to the "supply and demand" dynamics of this hobby is that just when an economic downturn causes many hobbyists have less money to spend,  there may be more women who decide to supplement their other incomes by participating as providers. Or they may have lost their jobs and so this may become their new source of income.

And so it is a simultaneous decline in demand and increase in supply that can drive down prices in the short run.

Economic theory says that when markets are "transparent" - when consumers have accurate informaton on prices - such lower prices may entice new consumers to enter the market, and so that may end up increasing demand - and then increase prices in the long run.

Of course, people can only consume so much of some things. WHich is why 1/3rd of the 20,000 houses in metro Phoenix that are on the market now are sitting empty, and apartment vacancy rates are higher than usual.

Now, sometimes government can stimulate demand - raise it by artificial means: a sort of Viagra for the economy. One approach is to simply reduce excessive regulation and let the market function. Another is to have the government purchase services and provide them to those with unmet needs.

But I don;t think those will happen with the hobby in Arizona.

About 2 months ago, I made a post titled "Has your "hobbying" activities changed?"

http://www.theeroticreview.com/discussion_boards/viewmsg.asp?BoardID=5&SortBy=DateCreated%20desc&SearchType=1&Author=looking&DayFrom=600&DayTo=0&MessageID=58023&frmSearch=1

In that post, an article from AZcentral.com pointed out that Az is facing hard times.

AZ's biggest economy has been construction for many decades. Feds cut interest rates a while ago by a half point (.50%) and today they cut the int rate again by a quarter point (.25) in order to help out with the credit crisis in this country. Let me also add that oil is now $94 a barrel, instead of $80 a barrel at the time of my last post.

Yahoo.com posted and interesting article "Fed Cuts Interest Rate by Quarter Point"

"The economy is facing a perfect storm right now of a crisis-related tightening of credit, higher oil prices and lower house prices," said David Jones, chief economist at DMJ Advisors, a Denver forecasting firm. "We are going to see a significant slowing in growth."

Lyle Gramley, a former Fed board member and now an economist with Stanford Financial Group, put the chances of a recession at around 40 percent, saying the Fed's primary concern right now is what is happening in housing and how much of a spillover that will have on the overall economy.

"It is possible that the housing industry will take us over the edge into a recession," he said, noting that every housing downturn of the past 60 years with the exception of two have triggered recessions.

My predictions: Retail spending will fall below expected anticipations ending 07, and 2008 will continue the landslide in the economy.  The price of oil will surpass $100 per barrel and more people will struggle to make their mortgage payments here in AZ.

I don't post reviews but I have had to tailor back on my hobbying time immensely.  I am the hard working average guy whose disposable income is tightening more and more each day. No more Starbucks, no more going to lunch everyday, traded down in my car (got rid of my sports car and truck and bought a Hyndai), shop at Ross rather than Macy's and Nordstrom's, and now contemplating living like I did when I was in college such as get a roommate(s) and eat Top Ramen.

Now those are some dramatic changes in my lifestyle but I am a practical guy and do not live my life beyond my means.  Being homeless for me takes precedence as not being an option over wanting to see a provider.

In closing, I do expect or suspect (maybe both) that in the future, hobbyist will have to rethink their habits as the providers continue to charge $400 and up for an hour of time in a down turn economy.

The main issue is supply and demand as in anyother service or product. If the demand for the ladies drops off signicantly then I suppose they will adjust their rates accordingly. If you own a lot of oil stock or work for the oil companies then I suppose you will have alot of extra cash to offset the ones who are doing without these days.I have noticed several ladies, ones who are very classy reducing their rates or doubling up on their time for the same rate. It is just like anything else, Chevy and Fords sales are in the toilet and yet some of the luxury cars sales are above normal.Alot of the men who do this are doing well financially and it just may not affect their escapades at all.  THe old saying, those with money in a down turn economy take advantage and make lots of money, and those with very little barely survive. I wish you well and have a great day. BJN

Just my twocents worth----There are still a few of us who offer LOW FLat donation at TOP QUALITY!!
If you have the $$$ to spend on one of the "higher $$$" girls..then GO FOR IT {they are all beautiful}!! If not just search thru the reviews and find the "lower $"gals with great and consistent reviews{like me}...

I'll say!!  Time and money with Dallas is money well spent.  I can't imagine that there is much more that you could get than what you do with Dallas.  I have read many reviews...many have paid $$$and gotten poor service.  Dallas does not try to break your bank...your back, hips, break you in...those are other things.

I've about doubled my activities at a minimum. It's a matter of priorities. My primary income this year will be about half of it was last year and my hobby budget has doubled. I've been lucky at the casinos so I've spread it around a bit.

Complain and moan all you want about CL and BP but those two plus sites like it have done more to devalue the pricing structure but also devalue the quality of the providers. Every street walker on van Buren got a hot laptop and they got off the streets and are posting $100 specials etc...doesn't interest me in the slightest.

The top providers should hold their pricing firm IMO as I don't look upon the other type as an alternative choice at all and to even suggest they are competing "products" is an insult to the quality providers in my opinion.

Like comparing a new Ferarri to an Edsel with busted leaf springs. The both may still get you there but what's the quality of the ride??
