NY.....contrary to what is believed, being a moderator in NY is an easy job as the outspoken gentlemen and ladies beat down anyone who got out of line.....free speach is important....calling someone out for making a stupid statement is fine......it is my hope that this community will police itself and call me in when it gets out of hand......be well all.

Just my $.02-worth:

There is no "right" to
1. Name calling.
2. False or deceptive statements.
3. Disclosure of private/personal information.

In addition, criticism of someone for posting something just because you wish they hadn't posted has been the spark of many conflicts here.  Free speech DOES encompass things you might not value or appreciate.  If you don't like the subject line or the poster's reputation for saying things you don't like to read, just don't click on it, but keep your bitching about it to yourself.

You start a fire then back off?  You threaten  moderation then tout free speach?  I appreciate you tackling this tough and thankless job.  You have handled things well, but now I am confused.

of the folks who pushed the envelope.....and will keep them moderated until they prove they can post appropriately.   Believe me, I have not backed off....unfortunately there are 44 messages in the que that won't see the light of day.

I think what vexes me is when individuals go back and forth at eachother and are no longer even discussing the original topic.. just take that crap offline! send nasty e-mails to eachother and get all that hostility out of your systems.. then come back (whoever survives) to the discussion. This does not mean you have to be nice to everyone.. also keep in mind it is alot easier to misunderstand someone's intent in writing especially in a short message..just be civil and don't take it personally (unless openly attacked of course)..
Otherwise Sheriff Dingus is gonna have to moderate y'all, y'all..

and people can read things into them that wasn't intended.  I really don't want to spend hours writing something, so that no one can miss interpret my posts.  If a post seems offensive, ask the poster for a clarification. Not all of us are writers, and alot of us have forgotten alot from English / Grammar classes.

Mr. Dingus 15, is it possible for you to tell the Board which people are currently moderated?  My reason for asking is merely one of curiosity.  Thanks!

Sit on the board for an hour or two and refresh your screen every couple minutes.  People whose posts are date/timed about 45 minutes earlier than they show up are moderated.  Unfortunately, it doesn't keep people from being jerks, and Dingus is not censoring people from making fools of themselves here...just keeping them from breaking his rules.

Dingus.  You are to be admired for your patience.  I travel around the country and read a bunch of local board but have never seen anything with the dynamics of the Phoenix board.
