How many knocks do we need to learn that people are not always what they seem?  When it comes right down to it, it is our responsibility not to insist that they be who we want them to be.  This insistence interferes with our seeing who they truly are.

Yikes, too much mental power required here to fully comprehend the message, especially after the St. Patty's Day celebrating I did last night. Suffice it to say that you are #1 in my book MJ just the way you are.

Unfortunately people often don’t know who they are. Social barriers, societal rules, cultural mores all seek to mold people who have very little variance. This allows for greater predictability.  The fear of being alone is often a driving force for people to conform. Often it is much easier to try and find commonality even if it is contrived to feel a sense of belonging. When people have achieved this it is often common for them to project that on others in hopes it will assist in the pursuit of happiness because it has helped them feel a sense of belonging. Most people are happy to just exist and belong as opposed to real living. Unfortunately or not depending on your view; really living and attempting to find out who you really are can be messy and dangerous (socially) most people align themselves with their culture and it’s norms. Here add agencies feed us the life and attitude they promise will bring us happiness. Most people are significantly older before they are able to discern they have been duped. People who project or need to conform are often well meaning however they can be a mask for control and power or even more so fear. Fear kills most people’s lives and pursuits and can be very infectious.
Life is what happens to you while you’re dreaming about what tomorrow could be instead of living what today is. In the end I feel there is a great deal of wisdom in the old saying to thine own self be true.
Well as anyone who knows me I have a flare for babbling.

It reminds me of something I recently read, that is-That the reason people are unhappy is because they think they need something that they don't have.  It could be something material or it could be something from another person.  Once they realize they don't need these things, they can find true happiness within themselves.  Yes, it is so simple, but today's society does make it rather hard for most.  That's why I am happy to be such a hippy chick LOL!

"May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night and a road downhill all the way to your door"   That's my favorite one.  Very positive and inspirational.  Those Irish certainly have a way with words.  Peace and Love to all,  Roxanne

May you have the hindsight to know where you've been
the foresight to know where you're going
and the insight to know when you're going too far. ;o)

I guess that's why not many astronomers are Irish - that full moon washes all the stars away!

How about a little substitution for us Irish astronomers?  Something like "and a sky full of stars to guide you"

"What you don't have - you don't need it now
What you don't know - you can feel it somehow . . ."

Success is only realized when you believe and want it strongly enough to not let anyone or anything stand in your way of achieving your goal.

The only mountains that stop us are the ones we create.  Several post back I saw the phrase "The reward of a thing well done is to have done it"  I believe that is Emerson.

Message, don't let anyone or anything sidetrack you from acheiving your goal.
