I made arrangements already.  Thank you to those who have been gracious to me in this difficult time I am going through.  It just goes to show how wonderful this community is.

Solana-- Tell the airline that you are going out for a funeral.  They all have special funeral rates that you can capture at short notice.

But I already checked funeral fares and they are $570-700 a piece and I am bringing another person.

so MANY were lying, and abusing the airlines in the cases of a death in the family, that the airlines have made it difficult to get a true discount, and put one through "hoops".

For example, Northwest's bereavement rates are $590, but their regular fare is $675!  WTF?  That's not a discount!!!

I am stressed!

C'mon Fuzz, our beloved SJ wouldn't LIE about something like that...........would she?

Macy, of course I'm not suggesting that --- you l'il shit. ......

But the system was abused especially in the North Eastern markets. Airlines now ream grieving people just like everyone else. It's lousy.

cheap tickes and travelocity were better deals!  go figure.  and I had 3 folks other than myself to transport....  Travel under bereavement conditions is NEVER easy....  ever.  I just hope that she travels safely.  I mean who else is gonna vouch for me!  I am such a bizzare dude...
