That's one of the problems with providers who use the expensive photographers. They look great on their websites and ads, but usually don't live up to the hype. I like seeing the glammed up photos, but I like to see a mixture of photos, even self shots which don't hide the flaws and show what the provider really looks like.

I would not necessarily say that you are choosing poorly because this is a frequent problem. I have read hundreds of reviews which stated something like "her pics are old, she's heavier"' etc.

As far as looking like they just rolled out of bed, they probably did and there is no excuse for that. Period.

I have only once been in sweats (actually form fitting yoga pants as I don't own actual sweats), but that was per the request of the client.

Usually it's a dress and heels. For outcall, suited and booted. If for some reason I am a bit more casual ( inclement or really hot weather, or in a hotel I know staff is a little nosy) then it's jeans, boots/heels, sexy top and killer lingerie underneath.

I will admit I am guilty of wet hair, but I still had make up and such done. I always let the guy know just before he arrives I was just in the shower and not once has a guy cared.

I will say at times I am a little ill-prepared when guys arrive early and I don't want to leave them twiddling his thumbs in the lobby.

As for your complaint until this post I have never heard anyone complain before about this problem.

I don't think that's ever happened to me. I can't remember any of the ladies I'vee met not looking great. Only a couple have been in street clothes (which I don't mind) but they were still made up & presentable. I don't know what you are spending but if this happens alot maybe you should try someone a little higher priced if you expect more. Reading reviews should help as well.
