I'm truly moved that I have been the catalyst to bring you out of your coma.

I approved this post to get a conversation going.
As far as I can see, this is a classic shill post. It's a mini review of a local provider - there is a review already up, so what this seems to be is an extra ad for this lady.
The posting rules state:
SHILL THREADS
A Shill Thread is a thread that is started with a post that is praise, thanks, or a recommendation for a certain provider for reasons of self-interest, personal benefit, or out of friendship or loyalty. Starting a new thread with a Shill Post is not allowed by TER because such threads are considered extra "advertising" above and beyond what each provider is allowed each week.
Shill Threads are not allowed, and will be removed.
Mini-Reviews posted according to the Posting Guidelines are not considered to be Shill Posts.
As for mini reviews:
# Mini-Reviews may not be posted on local providers, regardless of whether they have TER reviews or not. Local providers will still be here next week, so no sense of urgency exists on sharing review information.
# Mini-Reviews may only be posted on visiting providers with 3 or fewer TER Reviews. If a provider already has 4 or more TER Reviews, a Mini-Review is not needed -- look up the existing TER Reviews in the database.
So you tell me - why should I leave this post up?
Because you need to use JUDGEMENT with these rules, Puck. Superfly has 21 reviews. Seems to have a good track record. Why all of the sudden accuse a valued member of shilling? It's offensive, frankly to those of us that try to contribute and are discreetly and unilaterally shut down. IMHO of course.
There is nothing about that post that doesn't say shill - by the definitions posted in the guidelines.
I've redacted the name of the provider so that she will be allowed to post an ad - otherwise, this would be her weekly ad.
Guess the exercise in reason is a failure - we'll go back to the old ways.
Before I retort, let me start by saying that we all appreciate the opportunity to discuss this rationally with you, Puck. I don't want this to seem like a bash Puck session, but the rules here have gotten ridiculous. That being said, you did NOT use your judgement based on all of the facts here. The member has 21 reviews and as far as I can tell, a solid track record of honest, objective reviews. That's where the judgement process should start. This is still a board for the members, by the members & most importantly FUNDED by the members. Let's make this simple, this is a discussion board for an escort review website. And he was discussing his review for an escort. Uh, what's the problem? I recognize that rules need to be put in place to keep the order of things, but censoring a guy from simply giving us information on a great session? That's not allowed now because it will automatically be assumed a shill post? No benefit of the doubt for long-time, loyal members? Seriously, that is fucking bullshit. Using your judgement means giving members with proven track records the benefit of the doubt, not the assumption of guilt for anyone with something good to say about a provider. Rant over.

extra advertising.. cut me a break... To sit down a do a review takes some time.. Then to get them approved.. 48 hours maybe more...
The guy wanted to say , he is on cloud nine and happy, maybe the girl is not going to be around for a while.. who the fuck knows, who cares.... the guy barely went into any detail..Not to much detailat all,
But it's a SHILL BECAUSE YOU DEFINED IT THAT WAY. Don't be a board nazi...this board somewhat sucks as it it.. you want to be even more strict? Let us weed out the shills.. We will call it if we see it.. It doesn't have to come down from the top... It's not like anyone is out there thinking , " thank god the MOD protected us from/ pointed out a shill post"
I like reading the little quips about a fun afternoon. I seem to remember reading these little quickie posts from a well known reviewers/ poster, his were never removed and his posts were never addressed previoulsy .. why the fuss now? The same rules for everyone?
If you get too many about the same girl.. then its a problem.. I don't remember reading to much about this girl ( there may be previous posts and I didn't read them) but if you want honesty, i read your reply and what pops into my head is "what a ball breaking *******." Go kick your dog if you have to let off some steam. you'll prob mod me for this but I'm so tried of fucking censorship..

your opinion. But do consider - he already had a review posted. This month. What is the point of doing a mini?
You folks really want me to apply the rules based on how popular or long-standing a poster is? You want me to let the regulars do as they please, crack the whip on the newbies?
Maybe I'll just let the ones who agree with me flaunt the rules. How would that be?
I'll continue to do my best to apply the rules evenly - whether I agree with you or not. Feel free to complain to Admin if you feel I'm not doing a good job - and feel free to criticize if you wish. My skin is pretty thick.
Hey, at least there's the beginning of a discussion. See how easy that is?
I am siding with puck. I decided to come out of lurk mode. I used to read these posts and skim the points of the ladies. I didn't even need to read the reviews. Once they changed the rules I decided to sign up. Soon I will pay for a membership. I am wating to see how the boards go. I never liked the way the newbies got scolded due to their opinions. It seemed like a very biased board. I can see how these rules may be strict but we all need balance. I for one like how things have changed. Maybe we can get more sides to the stories. IMHO
Reason for the gr8 afternoon post was the gal changed her hair back to a original look and with all the problems with bait and switch and whatever other problems come up it is a nice thing to come across something good....Puck the title of this area is titled: DISCUSSION BOARD you must have been absent in your pioneer days when they defined what the word discussion meant.
Another post you shot me down for was when I tried to start up a discussion on just opinion based...2009 Provider of the year...that could have led to others posting their favorite that they seen for the year and led others to look at others etc...it is a discussion board Puck and that was and is ways to create activity on a rather as Fuzzy stated a ghost town board besides just the providers who post.
Whatever Puck....a lot of good info is missed and with your heavy hand on here it will continue along with some fun discussions that could be started up that are not.
Your post was in reply to another post that had that link - and when that post was dumped any response went with it.
You want to do a provider of the year? Head on! Want to have a 'provider of the week' thread? That works too! A bunch of guys talking about their favorites is not the same as posting an ad thread for their favorite.
If you wanted to alert people to a hair color change, why was it necessary to make it a mini review? "Hey guys, Taina 's hair is back to black. I like it!" would suffice.
One of the reasons I took this board on when asked was that I don't live here now - so I have no favorites to play, either among the hobbyists or the providers.
So, "Hey guys, Taina 's hair is back to black. I like it!" would be fine?
Puck, if I understand this correctly this correctly, that is essentially what I posted about Jamie Monday (She's lost some weight and looks really hot!), except also I linked her reviews and Eros ad so that guys would know who I was talking about. And that post was pulled as a shill post.
Without those links, the post would have been pretty useless, and if instead of the links I just said to check out her reviews and Eros ad, well there are a ton of Jamie's, including at least two with ads on Eros Philly right now.
I know there are rules, but if the rules make it so that the only posts we can make don't have enough info to be useful, then maybe the rules need to be revisited.
Just to clarify...it was not Taina's hair I was talking about but she works with Taina and is on her site.
For what it is worth --- many times I have come from an appointment and just wanted to 'shout it from the mountain' or 'cock a doodle do'.
I wanted to instantly show my accomplishment on the discussion board, not only for the appointment, but for my diligent research and comparison shopping, hopefully yielding an enjoyable session. Should it matter if it was a local or a traveler.
I never thought it was shilling, just sharing that after glow.
Rules, rules, rules.
No wonder this board has gone from informative to BORING.
Let the post stand for crying out loud. Most of us know a shill when we see one anyway, we dont need mods and admins to tell us what one is.
Although the tumbleweeds and dust is blowing down this ghost town of a board.
I come to the local board, SPECIFICALLY TO OBTAIN RECOMMENDATIONS FROM OTHER DUDES... on the ladies that THEY like and recommend... and lately, there ain't none... with the strict rules etc.
heck, I've had posts removed... so I now post less frequenly on the Philly board. Most of the time I can understand why posts are removed... but to be honest... some dudes seem to be able to post on ladies while others???? I guess we just break the unwritten rules.... Once I was told my post shifted the board, so a local ladies ad would be shifted to the next page... that is contrary to your statement about "local providers will still be here next week..."
Either you enforce all the rules, or you err in judgement equally....
and as I say, I've no problem with dudes with solid track records making recommendations on a particularly good time with a lady... local, indy, agency or traveling.... no problem whatsoever .... just makes the hunt easier.
I agree with BSd. I want to see recommendations from other hobbyists when I come to the board.
If you stop by somewhat regularly, you get to know whose opinions are worth paying attention to and whose aren't, who likes girls similar to those you like, etc. If you question whether it's a shill, backing up these quick 'heads ups' with further research into the girls reviews, and/or PMing the OP for further information lets you know for sure.
Personally, I want all of the really good providers to consider Philly a 'must' stop. So when I see one, I want to let the other guys on the board know ASAP, expressly because I want the girl to get lots of business.
Because that's how you get them to return. It's their livelihood.
So by the definitions currently being used, such a post would be a "shill" post. I am touting a girl to gain her business, for my own enlightened self-interest (and as a side-effect hopefully the enjoyment of some of my fellow hobbyists).
I don't dispute this. I just happen to think that spreading information for the good of hobbists and providers is the purpose of TER, both the reviews and the boards.
fb
Oh, THAT will work.
Puck, I wasn't suggesting that you apply the rules arbitrarily. Rather, I was suggesting that the current rules are broken and need to be revised. The current rules seem to be tailored to protect us from a problem that many of of do not feel is serious enough to warrant the rigidity of these rules. So, like a couple previous posters, I was pointing out that an experienced hobbyist can pick out the shills fairly consistently by doing a little due diligence.
I'm also not proposing that there should be no rules. Only that some provisions are desirable to allow us hobbyists to share information, particularly time-critical info, among themselves.
Also, I don't claim to know the inner workings of TER, but I suspect that you aren't the one that makes the rules, that you only have to enforce them.
Just use your judgment - oh wait, if you do that then you will be accused of NOT using your judgment or someone won't like your judgment because their's is better.
Then maybe can give a break to those with a proven track record - oh wait, does that mean 6 months or 10 reviews or 27 reviews and 2 years or something else ? Oh, if it isn't defined, then you'll have to use your judgment - see above.
Just make sure you "protect" us all - oh wait, I didn't see that one in the TER guidelines but some think that's what it's all about - them. And then they'll call this a "community". ROLFMAO !
Remember too that a discussion board is so guys can tout providers - oh wait, I just heard of a new invention TER had - a review board ! wow, who would of thunk it ! You know what? I met with a visiting provider today who knocked my socks off. She has plenty of reviews. They are all stellar. She posted that she was visiting. Anyone could look at her reviews. Another brainstorm - don't have to look at a "discussion" board to find that out.
But then again some don't write reviews because they haven't figured out the review process and/or don't like it. I guess then they can't be trusted ! But use your judgment - see above.
Geez, I guess these guidelines and policies were written just to piss everyone off with no thought behind it.
Everyone is welcome to write Admin to change a rule, guideline or policy - or put it on the Suggestion & Policy board. They can also volunteer to be a Mod.
It's a no win, Puck. Many didn't like the "anything goes" board we had for quite a while either. Save your keyboard fingers and keep doing what you're doing, Puck.
I think Wheelhouse is shilling for Puck. SHILL! SHILL! Censor him!
Puck, you're not listening at all. No one said apply the rules arbitrarily. We said use your best judgement. Like some of the other guys are saying on here, the veterans can sniff a shill post from a mile away. And so can you. If you're just following orders, fine. Then our problem isn't with you, it's with Admin I guess. The bottom line here is this isn't about "protecting the integrity of the board", it's about money. When TER changed the rules about seeing ratings, it was about money. Same with these rules. They want more people to pay for membership, instead of it being a forum for guys to share info. It's a shame to see it deteriorate like this.
using my best judgement.
You folks say this is becoming nothing but provider ads. Now look at the post that started this thread and tell me what difference there is between that post and a provider ad?
Thanks for the vote of confidence. Teh ruleswill be applied in as uniform a manner as I can manage. That means when one of YOU pm's me saying 'he's putting up a shill post' - and you know who you are - I'll give it equal weight.
One provider ad per week - maybe I'll just let the shill posts go up, and call that her ad.
I can't please everyone -that's clear. So I guess I'll work on doing the job.
Thanks!
have seen Superfly and he done the same thing for me...He simply wanted to say he had a great time with me, which a lot of guys do for a lot of providers..It hasn't been a problem in the past,so why now...I think a lot of guys here are smart enough to notice a shill thread when it appears especially by someone who doesn't have review history or a alias..Usually classic signs of a shill thread...I read the rules and I do understand what Puck is saying...and he is well within his rights but I don't see any harm in this post because Superfly is a regular reviewer and this is something that he has done numerous of times in the past
Wow, this thread pretty much sums up why The Erotic Review is an afterthought in SJ / Philly.
When you have a douchebag moderator who doesn't let paying members share information with each other, what's the point?
It's no wonder the other boards are dominating TER in terms of both membership and participation.
Lighten up puck, isn't this supposed to be a forum for TER members to share information? It seems as if you'd rather consider it a place for you to go on a draconian power trip.
Ridiculous.
and this is it?
I'm truly moved that I have been the catalyst to bring you out of your coma.
Ever think that my lack of participation on TER is because of how crappy the board is in Philly?
Do you really think you should take no blame for how poorly the board you moderate is doing in comparison to the other local boards?
Wake up and smell the coffee.
Happy?
Now do something.
