Sounds like you want a guys only board where the topics discussed are only the ones you approve of.

Might I suggest starting your own yahoo group, then you can have total control.

This was originally posted in the "Do we really need a Phila Discussion Board" thread, but got lost on the bottom.  So I'm reposting it here as a new topic.
------------------------------------------------------------
Relative newbie here, but I'll chime in and say the Phila Discusson board is not a "discussion" board at all.  Rather it's primarily giving us provider ads, or someone's "in search of" info.  Frankly, that's not a discussion board to me.

As a suggestion, why not have 2 separate boards.  One for true "discussion" of pertinent topics, the other restricted to just ads or ISO's.  May even want to break ISO's out into a board separate from provider ads.  In this way, when we do come here, we know we'll be getting true discussion, and hopefully on topics that will be relevant to all of us.  Not meaning to single anyone out, but frankly I'm sick of seeing Betty of NJ's ads posted here all the time.  I know I can skip over them (and do), but they're space wasters, and don't belong here.

So, for a discussion topic to throw out there...what do you folks think, in general, of the provider reviews?  Me: It appears some/many of the guys here get off on giving juicy details, and telling us how they "popped" 2, 3 or 4 times.  I'm not a kid, so once is usually it, and if I'm lucky and she's good, I may get a double.  But is any of that really relevant to a provider "review?"  Partially maybe, but overall, most reviews seem to be reviewing the writer, not the provider.  Further...and much more importantly...there are WAAAAAAAY to many positive reviews.  Look, I know these ladies work hard, and some are damned good at what they do.  But there are lots of bowzers too, who could give a shite less about anything but the money...and it shows.

So the discussion topic I'm raising then, is how realistic do you all think the reviews really are, and how relevant is most of the info provided.  Again, I think they are uniformly too positive...maybe because the hobbyist doesn't want to hurt feelings.  But that doesn't really help us, the members, does it?

One man's opinion, but I'd love to see what others have to say.

why I post. First, there is a 7 days rule for all providers and agencies. I post once a week my schedule for the clients I have from this board. It might not be useful for you, but it is for them, because they click and know where, when, and what I have available.
As I do in ANY board I post, I do NOT overdo my welcome. I appreciate the opportunity they give me in posting and, because they do not accept ads from providers, I bought full membership. On others boards, I have banners & ads running, as a way to say "thank you" for let me in.
FYI, guys are not here to discuss topics, maybe the ones who spend the whole day logged in and post over and over...you can see the pattern in any board. There are 10 or 15 guys who posts over and over about stuff that has nothing to do with the purpose of the board...which is to find an IF there is an escort available in the area, IF she's holding incalls/outcalls, IF she's available and read her reviews.
If you skip over my ads...most guys also skip over the shills and rants every time they see yours or any of the other posters.
Remember, most guys and paying customers are lurkers, not posters.
And the ones complaining are also the ones who do not hobby, don't post reviews (unless is to assure their free VIP access).

"I post once a week my schedule for the clients I have from this board. "

The facts show something a bit different!

From the frequency of these posts, it sure does look like you are posting "useful" information for your clients alot more often than every 7 days. I think you might have your facts a little skewed!!!

Look, we're getting off topic here.  Betty uses the Discussion Forum as her own personal classified page, and we all know that.  All I'm suggesting is that there is a separate forum/section/whatever for this type of provider "advertising."
The simple fact is: It's not Discussion Room fodder.  So chill, Betty, and accept your "discussion points" for what they are...advertising.

Now back on topic, how many here think the Discussion Boards (NOT the ads) are useful?  Do you think hobbyists provide accurate and realistic info, or dress things up to make themselves look better.  Again, from my standpoint, I see way too many "model material," "once in a lifetime," "I forgot it was a service," etc. for me to really be able to rely on the escort reviews.  I know we aren't supposed to be cruel, and that's not my intent....but some of the ladies do have less than perfect bodies, bad breath, body odor and the like.  And perfomance wise, some either aren't into it at all, fake orgasms so blatantly it's laughable, or just aren't any good at what they do (lousy kisser, teeth on hummer, etc.).  Yet seldom do I read this type of review.  Now......why is that?

because I'm posting "in my original" post. If you read TER rules, I can post as many times I want IF is under what I already posted.
The problem with the way this board is set up, I only have a small amount of time to edit my posts. If I had unlimited time, I would only delete what was "past & done" and make my update in it's place instead.
When I post on TBD, I don't clog the site with a bunch of posts...I just edit or delete my previous one and put the new information in there.
The way I do my posting is very useful for my regular clients...they click and know what is going on.
Now, if it annoys you, or anyone else, you don't need to read it. I don't read things that do not interest me either. There is a scroll buttom in your keyboard, use it.

So much for a meaningful discussion thread.  All we get is Betty's excuses for why she domninates the board.

So to answer the original question, the responses contained in this thread show that the discussion boards are absolutely a waste of time.  Not for the likes of Betty, though.  She gets plenty of free air time.

just ignore me sweets. Don't need to read anything I post or comment on.
Unfortunately, this is a board that claims protection under the First Amendment....so I have the freedom to say whatever I want, the same way any other person here do. Including you.
I respect the rules and abide them...so, let me be, ok?

Betty, honest to God, this isn't about you, nor was it ever meant to be.  This all started with a question from the mod re necessity of having a discussion board.  I weighed in with opinion that this board is less about "discussion" and more about advertising.  Advertising is good...that's how we get to find out about you fine ladies :>)

But I'm also saying it doesn't belong on a "discussion" board.  TER could/should look into a separate board for providers advertising locales, visits, etc.  That would actually make it easier for all of us, I think.

So seriously, I'm sure you are excellent at what you do, and you really don't bother or bug me in the least.  I wish you well, and hopefully one day we'll meet!  Then we can both kiss and make up for any misunderstandings.

I think *discussions* are a waste of time per se.  That's not to say all discussions are 'wastes' and that's not to say I'd like a board full of adverts.

However, if I want the opinion about a provider, I go to the Reviews section.  I don't want to 'discuss' it but will b/c if there's something urgent to discuss.

I go here because I say to myself 'Maybe I should see someone today/tomorrow/this week/etc.  Who's around, who has availability, what price, what dates, what locations etc.?

That's all *I* really want to know.  A pure 'advertisement' section doesn't give the nitty-gritty -  for example, if a traveler is in town and suddenly decides to offer a special deal because her dance-card is a bit light -  I *like* having a place where that kind of 'announcement' appears.

Perhaps that's it -  I'm seeking 'announcements' and not necess. 'discussions'.  I don't want generalized spam either-  I don't want a general ad from so-and-so and unless she has something new to 'annouce', such as location change, price change/specials etc.
