A critic's opinion on the above link show's the diffence between the two.

Steak wit whiz...that's all you have to know!

Are you telling me a Philly Cheese Steak doesn't even have real cheese on it? Very disappointing!!! :(

I've had them down in South Jersey where they use the real deal.

Go Figure!

Citizens of Philly:
Time for a cheese steak revolution...lol

Cheers!

Actually, Wiz is one of those secret ingredients that sets Philly steaks apart.  I've heard people say that you shouldn't even question it, and that Cheez Wiz is kinda the default' on a Philly steak.

It's got to ooze down your arms to be authentic :)

Correct, trident!

These heathens probably would put mayo on a pastrami sandwich, too.

go to other places....Try Tony Lukes...great food..real cheese and huge sandwiches. Try the chicken cutlet with extra sharp provolone and broccoli rabe...there are great steak places on every corner in South Philly..those two are popular with the tourists.

I wish you could PM one to me. ;)

Cheese steaks are for tourists... Tony Luke's (on Oregon) - Pork Italian... thin sliced roast pork, garlicky brocoli rabe, SHARP provolone and ask for extra au juice...

But if you just HAVE to have a cheese steak, Whiz is the only way to go.

Can you see this place from the airport as your plane is landing? ;)

Ladies, in my humble opinion, Geno's is THE place, of course there's always Tony Lukes @ Oregon Avenue and Front or 2nd...can't remember exactly....

Michelle,

For someone as lovely as you....only the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.  They both suck!  Note the use of Cheese Whiz instead of real cheese.  That's your tipoff right there.  Furthermore the sandwiches at both tend to be greasy.

Do one of 2 things to get a GOOD Philly Cheesesteak:
1.  Just walk South Street, and let your nose be your guide.
There are several places that serve up the real deal.
2.  Check out Pudgies.  There's one in Norristown (Ridge Pike)
and I think another in the City.  Not only are they good,
but unless you have a monster appetite, you'll only be able
to finish half, and save the rest for later.

Enjoy babe!

Got stuffed, cheeze whiz, but it was delicious. Next time Gino's. Thanks for all the back posting. I thought it was a silly post, but I have heard of this Philly rivalry for some time, and had to see what people like best for these wonderful greasy pieces of paradise.

Later I went and bought a corset at The Passional, this rocking fetish shop in Philly. Have you heard of it?

Since all my wardrobe/shoes/jewelry (vintage) got stolen from my car in Phoenix a few days back, I kinda splurged. I did get a warm vintage brocade coat from Afgansitan that rocks, but it is the alligator corset that really knocked me off my feet. I will look so cute doing doggie in the snow (lol). OMG, it is so cool. The latex stockings, latex garter, and latex blouse are on back order. Can't wait. (*grins*) Oh I found a really excellent old typewritter around thecorner. I am in heaven.

The shop offers all sorts of interesting group classes on spanking, body mods, vibrators, you name it.

Cool place. The salesmen was very helpful and I might do some fetish modeling for the store, which was a suprise bonus.
