I made an appointment with a highly rated provider (One of the Top 6 on the Philly TER Board) and reached out to make an appointment.  Figuring she came so highly rated, I was surprised that it took about 2-3 days to finally arrange an appointment - ok, people are busy, family issues happen, etc, fine - we're booked to her in call in a Philly suburb.  I was very specific in that I was coming down from Newark Airport and would be there by 9:30pm for our appointment, but if I was running late, that I'd call from the car.  She didn't want to give out a phone number (email only) but relented when I said it would be easier to call than try to email while driving. So, she gave me a private number and I said I'd only use it  for this appointment then would delete it.

So, I left EWR right on time, in fact stopped at the closest rest stop on the NJTP to check my email as she said she'd email me the in-call address by 8pm.  At 8:06, there was nothing, so I texted her that I was in-route and continued my way south to please send the in-call details.  At 8:37, I checked my email while driving, still no word, so I sent a quick email, asking for an update on in-call.  Kept checking for a text and email and nothing ever shows up.

As I was leaving the NJTP to get on the PATP, I called her phone, which went right to voicemail - I left a message.  Still no word on the in-call address and I'm 20 mins away now from the town.  10 mins later, I send another text message to her, no response.  So, now just as I'm on the exit on the PATP for the town (at 9:15pm), she calls and says she never heard from me, has left the in-call and went home.  "It's too late now, I have an early morning meeting for my IRL job and can't meet you".  

I said, wait a minute, I'm on time as I said I'd be and never told you I was running late, so how is it now that this appointment time is too late for your IRL job meeting when we spoke at 1pm you confirmed the appointment and never let on or communicated to me that you had to cancel when this mysterious meeting popped up.  I would have been fine with a cancellation email or text at 8pm or 8:30 even which would have given me enough time to re-route and not lose 1.5 hrs of travel time and could have gone home.  She said, she's sorry again, but can't change it now and if I wanted to see her again, that she'd make it up to me.

That evening I wrote her and told her how disappointed I was since she has such a great reputation and comes highly rated and even recommended from a good friend of mine.  She wrote back the next day with a weak apology and said she's accommodate me if I wanted to book another appointment - to which I wrote back "How will you accommodate my lost time of about 2hrs round trip of wasted travel?  No answer.

She finally texted me saying she never saw my text messages until after 9pm and them it was too late as she left the in-call at 8:37 when she got my email from the car thinking that I was just leaving EWR and would not be there by 9:30 - so she just left without a word or a question if I was still coming.  She could have called, emailed, or texted me to ask can you still make it?

She keeps saying, she'll make it up to me and I keep asking to define what that means and I just get "I'll rock your world"  Ok, but I was already coming to see you for that experience!  WTF - Lame, lame, excuses.

Sorry for the long rant, but wanted to readers and any potential White Knights (or Knightesses) to know I was very diligent in my communications (text, voice, and email) and never said I was not going to make my committed time, yet still got stood up 10 minutes from the door.  I have loads of cancellations in the past - most with a day or two notice, and only one on the same day - that's all fine.  I myself have had to cancel - but never 10 minutes before the appointment.

I mean what good does it do to rant and not let the guys here know to whom you are referring?

If the girls here, or any town, know they will be called out, they will be MUCH less likely to engage in this sort of activity.

And, since you mention she is "in the top 6," you impugn all 6 by not being specific as to which girl treated you unprofessionally.

Is that fair to the other 5?

Jack, if you were more clever you could have imagined why I didn't say one of Top 5 or Top 4 girls did this.  She's in the Top 6, but not the Top 5.  Hows' that?   Can you do the math now?

And guess what genius, the rankings can change with ONE new review so in a day or two the number 6 girl could be a different one so you would be "outing" the wrong girl.

If you don't dime out the provider, then this is a waste of bandwidth. Stuff like this happens often and it is aggravating but in the end, far worse things have happened to you, and you went home with money in your pocket. However, if you identify the offender,then it is a piece of useable, if not useful, information.  If you don't ID the girl, then it is probably best to quietly lick your wounded ego to avoid a fracas over nothing of importance.

Something like this happened to me (it was actually far worse) but I kept it to myself. I have not and will not see that provider again, who is also on the top ten list, and I won't recommend her, but then again, no one has asked me.

Let's move on to more pleasant thoughts.  Does anyone play cribbage?

Really dude you wrote all this for what. I'm calling bs. If every provider ranted on TER about all the unreliable last minute cancelling d-bags this would be pointless. I'd advise you to place a complaint when you want legitimately deal with a troublesome provider. As the previous dude said it could have been worse.

I was trying to be a bit more discreet - funny, you three clowns above couldn't figure it out, but I had 4-5 PMs, girls and guys who knew exactly who I was talking about, but if you need to know her name more overtly, then there you go.

Soon, this post will fall to the next page, and no one will care - maybe she'll be number 6, maybe 5 or even 7.  The point was that for the useful life of this post, being a few days, she'll be 6, it won't change that quickly.  But, you'll always be an asshole, now matter how the rankings move around.  

You don't post any reviews and you just make a general nuisance of yourself across this board and others.  Everyone knows it. My point, which you must of missed, is that self-pitying whines are useless (and annoying) unless you ID the perpetrator. I was not advocating that you do it, but now the damage is done. And yes, through your "clues" I figured it out and felt the mild euphoria of a true detective moment. But I really didn't care.

Why such vicious attacks on the manhood of guy who got fucked over by a provider? Rather than decrying the bush league, unprofessional conduct of a thoughtless provider, you guys tear into him. By not naming her in the first instance, he showed more decency and restraint than I would have, but to each his own. Naming a local provider on this local board could amount to a death sentence for her business and he was obviously trying to balance that with his frustrations over her conduct. Now that he has named her, is everybody satisfied?  

It is obvious to me that several of the posters have an axe to grind with each other and this OP is collateral damage.

I reread my first post and thought it was fair.  I pointed to the futility of a no show rant that does not ID the offender and did not urge him to identify her.  In fact, I pointed to my own example where I kept quiet about an incident, despite being seriously inconvenienced and in a way that told me I should stay far away from her.  And I have.

However, there is no excuse for name calling and I regret having participated in the discussion.

It was a reasonable and valid criticism, written without any ad hominems or personal attacks of any kind. I stand by it 100%.

It was the OP's over the top, defensive reaction to the valid criticism that the thread went downhill.

He clearly made a mistake, which happens, but then quickly blamed everybody BUT himself for the issue.

If you want to be in the camp of not calling girls out then fine, then you should also be in the camp that grown men shouldn't come on here and cry about getting screwed over and doing nothing about it.

And like I said, by not naming her, but placing her in the top 6, that impugned the professionalism of all 6. No need for that.

Maybe the OP will think before he goes down this road again and maybe the girl in question will act more professionally in the future.
