Please help!!!! I’m getting soooo frustrated, this is my first time doing this as an independent and I am having such a hard time with guys booking time and not showing up. I have decided, since I’m doing this on my own, that I am only going to take a select few appt. daily these guys that are pulling this nonsense are killing me. So far, I have had at least 2 no call/no shows daily. Don’t these guys know that my time is money, not to mention how inconsiderate it is using up a time slot, (especially a peek one like lunchtime) when there are so many gentlemen with very tight schedules that have been calling and emailing me daily, but I can’t squeeze them in. I have started only doing same day appt. and asking that you call 2 hrs. ahead of time to confirm, but it really isn’t stopping it from happening. I just had one guy call me to let me know he was on his way, but after ½ hr past and he was now late, I called him, he said he was in a cab on his way, I waited and he still never showed up! I mean come on, if your not gonna show just say I can’t make it. Is that too much to ask? Other providers, how do you deal with this???

Once established, I'm sure you will have regulars who would never dream of being a no show.....shit happens.....but this is one reason why you should screen.  

When someone has provided the necessary info to pass your screening, they are less likely to stiff you.

Sorry that you are having problems.  As a long time indy, I still have no call no shows.  It happens to everyone.  I agree with dingus, once you get your  regulars it makes life alot easier.  Hang in there.  This time of the year, no shows are a little worse than normal.

Philly gents have always been great to me.  I sometimes offer a VIP TER membership discount.  They are usually wonderful about showing up and appreciate the small token.  Not to mention they usually know what is expected and appreciate your time for the most part.

I have no answers for you but I think "no show/no call/no pay" is basically stealing since you have no way to replace the lost appointment.  I don't know if I'm in the majority or the minority but if I'm going to be even a little late I call ahead and when I arrive I realize that it was my time that got used.  Traffic or other delays are NOT her problem when it's In-Call service.

I think we've all been there and I certainly know how frustrating this can be. You are probaly not screening these guys if they are not showing. You dont want to book just anyone who calls and it's not a good idea to hold a time for anyone without atleast having their cell phone #. You want to weed out the unreliable and problem clients by asking questions to make sure they are who they are and they are serious about making an appointment. The least you should be getting is a cell phone # and a morning confirmation. When someone doesnt confirm, then that time becomes available. I would also suggest asking for referrals for safety reasons.

I hate to be blunt, but this is a cash kind of business if you know what I mean.

There is often little honor on both sides of the coin. Be glad these a-holes didn't show up. Imagine if they cant even be bothered to call what they might be like as a date?

The same go for the gals who flake out too. IMHO you move on. Don't make such a big deal of it because you will have to get used to it. You might be able to change your screening habits and that might offer a better chance, but integrity and the hobby is a strange concept!

Choose the problems and they will not be such an issue!

We spoke by phone and e-mail and when I called to confirm our date she was unavailable and did not answer her phone, missed my appointment time and no call from her until 4 hours later wanting me to rebook. I would have liked to but could not due to schedule. Maybe next time.C'est le vie

Since that time I have had several gents hook up with me from Philly but in other cities, and now I have a small fan club in Philly. However when I tour to Philly, I will require a deposit for people that I have not seen before, due to the no shows (see above link to thread). Sorry for the no shows I travel to philly once a month and have had a few problems with providers not showing so it does cut both ways.  I can understand your frustartion of course a no show for me dosent cost me any money.   I will say though that I agree your time is money and it totally sucks when someone does that to you.  I hope you have better luck in the future and good luck.
