I totally agree with you.
I try and get this board to have a little excitement
But it never seems to work
I think this is a great board and a wonderful advertising tool
A lot of ladies are just missing out.

But what can you do?  

I've been on the Vegas board where I Vacation and that's been pretty exciting, it's like a lot of providers and hobbyists know each other and it creates an exciting atmosphere, it's like being back in high school and all the cheer leaders are hot for the dorks.  What I think can be done:

have the girls post pictures on the photo threads, maybe some guys will "drool"

ask random questions about the hobby

bitch, complain, rant

ask a serious controversial question

organize a meet and great?
