I have noticed more and more suspicious-looking ads lately on Adult Search and other sites (2Backpage, Yes Backpage) offering escort and massages. I have been scammed twice since Saturday trying to set up an incall.
Anyone else experiencing the same? Is no site immune to scam artists?It is all about my due diligence from whatever source the lady may use to advertise on. Did you research them before you contacted them? Sorry you went through that.
Yes, as much as I could find, which wasn't much. I am a member of TER and look there to see if there are reviews but with many Adult Search and other sites, there is often no reviews available. When the ad says to text to set up, I text for at least a day or two before making an appointment. With enough texts, things like stilted language and inconsistencies pop up and that raises red flags. Not foolproof, but a good indication.
But I have also learned to read the text more carefully before even starting to text. Something I have noticed is that quite a few providers on Adult Search have ads with absolutely identical text, word for word except the name and contact info. That is a dead giveaway that the provider exists only in the ad. It is easy to download plenty of photos, so that means nothing anymore.
So I have learned to ask some questions that might trip up a scammer. What bothers me is the sheer number of ads that are potential scams.....and some sites are so obvious that I don't use them anymore.
Although you say it isn't about the site, can you recommend sites where checking out a provider is easier to do, i.e. find references or information on the providers?
This region is definitely one of the worst in the country as far as talent goes and it's getting worse and worse by the day. For example, skipthegames is literally filled with 99% fakes and scammers now and most of the other sites are the same. The few that are legit aren't even worth seeing or are highly overpriced. If you're not sure about a girl just Google their number or do a quick pic search and that should tell you everything you need to know to determine if they are real or not.
