Very well said and I agree with every word.

I’m a very infrequent poster here, but I enjoy reading the TER Philly Board and I also consult the reviews before I schedule any appointments (which have also been infrequent of late.)

The main reason I enjoy the board is because it provides a forum for hobbyists to ask for suggestions and information, get advice, and enjoy good conversation and humor.  There are often disagreements and little “spats” among us, but that’s fun too.  It all makes for enjoyable reading and participation.  It’s also fun and instructive when providers enter into the discussions.

Here’s what’s neither fun nor instructive: a pompous and blustering provider who feels the need to hammer anyone who expresses an opinion, shares some information, or writes a review that she doesn’t like.  There’s one provider I have in mind who routinely uses this board to spew her uninvited invective in what seems like a desperate effort to keep a sufficient quantity of attention focused upon herself at all times.  It’s sad, but it’s also annoying.  I have been with this provider.  During the session, she talked mostly about herself, about TER, about her own stellar reviews, and about how intelligent everyone thinks she is.  Since it sort of creeped me out and since the session was just average, I did not write a review, because my experience seemed out of the norm compared to her other reviews.  I figured it was “just me” and maybe it was.

So, in conclusion, I have nothing against such individuals as providers.  What I do object to is being forced (okay, not really forced, since I choose to read TER) to endure the rudeness and anger and negative energy that is regularly unleashed upon this community of hobbyists.  This is especially true since (and I do not think I am alone in this) I possess very little interest in this provider’s opinions on the topics we hobbyists choose to discuss among ourselves.

I hear ya & I'm with ya moonpup...There are always going to be posters (providers & hobbyists) whose opinions you may or may not value or care about but you answered your own dilemma...CHOOSE to read posts from providers & hobbyists whose opinions you value.  The others...just CHOOSE not to read 'em.

Spoken like a truly wise man.  We seem to have gotten some real posiitve momentum here in Philly and dispite the occassional stinger now and again, we are getting to be a fairly convivial group.  Now, if I can just get my VIP back...lol..

...with all of these lovely ladies both already here & visiting, what the hell are ya waitin for? LOL

Done.  Submitted it today.  I'm probably going to do the quarterly thing.  I get lazy and my short term memory sucks!  I do try to go UTR most of the time to protect the innocent. LOL

I agree with you to a point, but I read a little more into moonpup's post.  It's one thing for another hobbyist to jump on a poster too hard - that is annoying and surpresses some people's willingness to state their opinion.  On the other hand, I think moonpup was offering some excellent feedback to providers.  I know I have scratched some providers off my list of those I want to see based upon how they respond on this board and others.  We hobbyists can be assholes and not lose business over it, but when a provider gets pissy, snotty, etc. they are just hurting themselves.

And one thing none of us need in this hobby are enemies. Providers, in particular, should be careful.  I know of cases where some unbalanced hobbyists have tried to make providers lives miserable just because of some perceived slight.  Frankly, it is very short-sighted, and not very intelligent, for a provider to get pissy and negative on a public board. They don't know what sickoos are out there fixating on them. I'm pointing this out because I care about our provider friends out there...

Yea, you make some excellent points...I for one could never be a provider LOL...seriously, we hobbyists get to pick & choose who we see based on websites, pics, reviews, etc...but the providers don't have that luxury, so they can never be too sure who's who?!?!?

Yea, we don't need no stinkin enemies!

Very well said and I agree with every word.

I agree with what you said.  We should not be bashed if we give a review of a provider that we were not happy with.

Even the unseen ones?

So you'd be bashing someone whom you haven't been?  I'd expect that you'd get treatment in kind.  You can do what you want but let's try and use the boards constructively.  This board used to have a very negative vibe.  It's taken a turn for the better but with attitudes like yours, it could easily slip back.  Are you an active hobbyist or is this an alias?  Either way, please leave the negativity at the door.  If you have a beef take it outside with the person you have a beef with.

I believe he IS trying to clean up the board.  The provider in question, if it is who I think it is, rarely has anything constructive to say.  Her entire purpose for being on the board is to draw attention to herself.  Period.  We have gone through phases before where some people thought that the board should be run according to their tastes.  So back off, and let the man have his say.

It appears to me that the only one with an axe  to grind, nick, is you.  With rare exceptions and I count your Christine post as an example of a contructive post, you only chime in when Macy posts a message.  I respect the fact that there points and counterpoints to any post and I respect everyone's right to express their views.  What I have a problem with is your focusing on one person because she also speaks her mind.  What's the problem, Nick?  I'll back off when you cut the shit!

so get over it an move on.

Glad you posted and shared your thoughts.  Certainly understand and can appreciate what you are saying.  I've noticed the same type of issue being brought up on other regional boards, not so much what a provider writes, but the content of certain threads.  On one regional board, for example, there's a writer or two who complained because there were jokes on the regional board instead of on the Erotic Humor board (the mod agreed to keep the jokes on the regional board.) In another instance a post objected to a gent from another region posting on a different region's board.  On another board a poster asked for opinions about reviewing a provider who was awful because he feared retribution (I'm not saying anything about any provider, merely stating the content of the post.) I bring up the latter point to lead to the same conclusion; i.e., readers can choose not to read posts by certain individuals just like they can choose to not review or see certain providers.  There are likely equal numbers who have a polar opposite view of your opinion and that's OK too, as you said. But as long as the posts generate a response the threads will be perpetuated and as long as guys keep seeing and/or don't review providers who they believe don't provide, then each will go on and on.  Sometimes it's best to just leave it alone and walk away. Thanks again for posting. Hope to see more of your insightful comments.
