I'm going to be in your city in a couple of weeks and i'm wondering how legit the offers are in the City Paper? Are most providers legit or is it ymmv thanks for any input. Oh and any suggestions would be great seeing i'm there on business for about a week.

The best thing to use those City Paper ads for is as a listing of the many AMPs and the well-established escort services. Other than that it is a risk, because you don't know what you're getting and the service quality can be disappointing. It's best, I've found, to follow what's online, such as here, even though it may cost more.

Have to agree with the other gent who posted.  You'd be extremely lucky to get a call back from an Indy, but if she did, there's a good chance that what is described is not what you'd get.  Once I called one of those numbers, from a provider who stated in her had "Perhaps you've seen me on page whatever from Big Jugs magazine, that's how hot I am" or words to that effect.  She ended up calling me back at 4 am on a weeknight(forgot to turn off the cell) to ask me if I wanted to see her then.  I guess the amphetamines were just starting to kick in.  The bottom line is that the good providers do not use that paper except for the litter pan if they have a cat.  And Philadelphia Magazine is not much better.

The first two ads in the city paper are scams. It's a crack head on 8 street. There are some good providers in there. A great place to find amps.

City Paper is hit or miss for a one-time appointment.  However, if one is willing to take a few misses, it can result in finding those independents who provide good service at low rates.  (I avoid agencies). You can have twice as many sessions for the same cost and close to the same quality than if you only went with the high-profile types.

I wish we could share more information among ourselves in forums such as this, or even via back-channel, regarding the City Paper advertisers.  I would be willing.

Yes it would be good to share, since there are so many possibilities in that paper, and they don't get reviewed on TER, since they don't have websites. For several years, I used that paper, aiming, as the above writer said, to find good, lower cost independent providers. I could actually write a book of my experiences and some of the places about the city to which this quest took me. I did find some good ones, as well as disappointments. Then, around 1 1/2 years ago, I noted that I had most recently had a string of disappointing experiences without any redeeming ones. Around then, I discovered the internet ads and boards and since then have mainly been using them with good results, although accustoming myself to paying more (2-3 instead of 1-1.5). Only once, since I started the internet route, did I go back to the paper to try again for a lower cost session. It turned out to be 1.5 thrown out on someone with a downright nasty attitude. The people in those ads turn out to be not GFE, often less attractive, lower class, sometimes disorganized, mean or ripoffs, and operating out of not so great places. Since that one attempt at "going back," I've stuck to the web and the well-reviewed providers. Yet the ads in the paper are there every week, appear tempting, and the prospect is always there of hitting something good at a lower cost. I just haven't been going that route since the last experience.

Personally I had called dozens if not hundreds of times over the years.  It definitely is trending towards getting worse. Most were very bad, if I even got a call back.  One time, and only one time, did I hit on a gold mine.  But she was a dancer at a club, and eventually moved away.  If you look at this as a risk / rewards proposition, you'll waste resources more often than you will you have a good appointment.  There's no way you will ever bat at least .500 by using CP exclusively, not in the year 2005.  As others have said, its one redeeming value is as a locator for AMPs.

The previous two responses are very thoughtful and strike me as probably being very good advice.  Thanks.
