I don't visit the Philly board very often but I can tell you guys that you are so lucky to have Taylor... she is a real gem. Treat her with the respect she deserves and you will be repaid handsomely.
In one of the TYJESUS threads below someone asked, "Is there a way to keep this guy off the board?"
No, but you guys who are sitting in the background need to step up and take back control of the board. There are 3 or 4 guys here who do nothing but trash people. I allow about 25% of their posts. I'm not going to totally shut them off from posting. IT'S NOT MY BOARD, IT'S YOURS!!! (I don't even live in PA.)
TER is such a useful source and it can be fun too. When I became Mod here, I tried to make the board more like the Boston and NYC boards. It didn't seem like you were receptive to it. My feeling is that the TER Regional Discussion Boards should reflect the region. None of the guys hobbies everyday. You must have something else going on in your lives. Want to make this board more interesting? Make it more about Philly (and the region). Sure it's a hobby board first but if I'm coming to Philly from Boston let's say, I would like to be able to come here and get a sense of the region. If I come to your area on business, I'd like to be able to post here and find out such things as where to eat, where to stay, why the Eagles sucked and so on. A lot of people don't agree with the way I moderated the boards but there is a reason why they are among the most popular boards on TER!
As a stranger to your region, this is the way I read the pulse of this board. The board is dominated by a small group of hobbyists who believe that no provider is worth more than $250 an hour. The provider who just organized your board party is apparently well liked so why does she get attacked by one or two regular posters every time she posts? There are other posters who get attacked in alias almost every time they post.
Again, the attackers are a very small group. However, if this is the board the rest of you want, so be it. Those of you who want me to make TY go away, as far as I'm concerned if he gets you mad enough to post well...
Common! Step up and make the Philly board worth reading.

Thank You Thank You
I love TER
Now this is the type of board i love.
Free to speak my mind
How can I repay you, TER ?
I cried reading this, except for when you dissed my E A G L E S ? Why do you say that mean thing ?
As a matter of fact, since you claimed that we were cheap, not paying more than 250/hr. I am seeing someone tonight for a whole 300 roses.
REVIEW TO CUM, LOL !!
I did make the party! I have also chimed in when asked about the region - everything from suggesting places to stay to the providers - to who to see if someone comes to this city! so, our board is a bit like our town - a little laid back with some edge...
also, the hobby in this city - much like EVERYTHING ELSE in philly - is infested with politics.... again - like this city!
I mostly post on the national genearal board - but do come here every so often... we are just a bit of a different bunch.... not that there is anything wrong with that!
Thirsty,
Since you say it is our board. Please listen to the members. Most of the contributing members of this board are fed up with the nonsense. All of the pathetic posters who constantly attack using aliases. Many people are asking you to get rid of a member who is basically a cancer. If you don't want to be responsible for making such a decision .Have a vote.10+ paid members with reviews can vote to ban a member who is causing nothing but trouble.
As you might have noticed I recently posted on the NY board for some help regarding info on a touring lady. The Ny board was very helpful. I did not post on the Philly board because I did not want to hear the useless BS that comes from posters like TYJESUS.
If you do a search using that handle I challenge anyone to find one helpful or POSITIVE post . A lot of us avoid posting because of the nonsense.
Christoph
He has every right to post as you do. You choose to not post here...why?
Why not post more and make this a place HE would not want to post. You are letting yourself be run off. stop letting some words on a board affect your life so much. Everyone here is an anonymous person behind a keyboard. No one in the real wold is going to point at you and say "Look...theres the guy that TYJESUS was harrassing."
Thirsty is righ, this board is only as good as the PARTICIPANTS make it.
I'll be happy to be more aggressive in restricting the B.S. posts if I see a more aggressive effort from the silent majority. The rest of you haven't spoken up so I assumed this was the kind of board that you wanted. Again, I'm asking you to shape this board into something that you want. I'm not going to do it for you if you don't make an effort. To illustrate this point, someone in Boston PMd me a couple of months ago complaining about some of the posters who take the board off topic too much. I pointed out to the author that if he wanted more hobby related posts on the board, he needed to stop lurking and help add to the content of the board. Bottom line, if you don't even try to change the direction of this board, do you really have a right to complain.
As I wrote, I will make a stronger effort but you've got to respond in kind.

I am always appalled when people misuse this valuable source of information. Wise up Philadelphia!
I am only a casual hobbyist and see providers because I enjoy the company of beautiful, sexy women. I only use TER to check reviews of providers I have interest in seeing. All of the negative BS is just that,BS. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to post, don't bother. The 'silent majority' has better tings to do than waste time on a negative vibe. Life is too short.
...is the glass half full? It can be for sure! I hope I'm not off topic but part of the frustration visiting this board is reading "some" of the Philly gents generalizing about "how terrible" the Philly providers are... it's just such a bummer.
Now having said that, I would also like to add this is not applicable to the the gents I met at the M&G downtown...you gents were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
No alias here & I mean no malice. TER is a great place to be and so is Philly!
We can and do control the pulse of the board. When I pointed out the board is slow, my observation was mainly that no one seemed to want to engage in off topic threads. Consequently, lotsa space for provider ads used for hobby research, which seems to be the general use by the Philly guys.
I'm also a guy who thinks TY wastes space but (and it pains me to say this) if he pays his dues he's got as much right as any of us to have his say. We can dispute it, ignore it, hopefully discredit it, but shouting it down or banning him altogether doesn't make a better board, it just makes it a more antisceptic one.
So I vote with Thirsty. Be more active, have your say and inject some new life and opinions. I met the guys at the M&G and it was a great bunch. And btw, Taylor was hot hot hot! Thanks for your compliments about us, Taylor.

I sent a group from Boston over here last year to trash talk about the Eagles and we couldn't even get a rise out of you. ![]()
At least I learned that you have to use cheese wiz to make an authentic Philly Cheese Steak. Should we start that debate again? ![]()
thirsty
There are plenty better cheesesteaks in this city, but Pat's and Geno's are still monuments to artery hardening. The real reason they use cheese whiz is so you can order your steak "whiz wit" (You ain't from Philly if you don't know what that means!)

You know Thirsty, thats pretty childish and sophmoric coming from someone who is supposed to MODERATE the boards.
Thanks for the advice Dad. Can I have the keys to the car tonight? ![]()
It was meant to be fun. Do you understand the concept?
This is the way I moderate the boards. You're not required to agree but you're stuck with me. ![]()
LIGHTEN UP! You'll live longer. ![]()

I'm traveling to Philly for outside business reasons. Thought I'd have fun and make use of my down time. I'm very curious to see how this experiment goes.
I'm coming down for a group fitness dealio and was thinking of making good use of my down time.
Is it worth the emotional investment?
I have to chime in. The board is slow, and I agree with the comment on TYJesus if he paid his dues he is entitled to his opinion. People here are reluctant to engage. I was at the meet and greet and it was great. Again thanks Solana!! It was good to put faces to the TER names. Lets have meaningful discussions and fun on a two way plane. I also ageee Taylor was hot that night.
My only regret about the M&G is that I didn't get a chance to talk with Taylor before she left - I got into coversation with Mikki and Nina and Avalon and before I knew it, Taylor had to go. Maybe next time...
As for the state of the board, I too am mostly a lurker here, mainly checking to see who's around, and if anyone is heading my way (Harrisburg). Thirsty's right when he says that the board is what we make of it, and we would all do well to just ignore the negativity (I should have read this thread BEFORE my little rant!). One advantage that some other sites have (e.g. those that use vBulletin software) is that they can have multiple forums under a single topic; also, there's a built-in Ignore function that lets you skip over the posts of those you don't wish to see...
I absolutely vote for 'less' rather than 'more' censorship or moderation. I don't see the board as being all that bad- sure, there are moments, but I'd hate to put too much effort into trying to solve a problem that may not be as big as one thinks.
As you say, the problem tends to be just a couple of usernames who must think they're 'cute' or something. Some of them do come around eventually- or go away if they discover that their trolling isn't raising the ruckus they wanted.
I agree. Rather than censor, edit posts or remove entire threads, I prefer to let the board community police itself. However, for this style to be effective, people must speak up.

it becomes similar to a board like craigslist. I don't post often but have a decent amount of reviews. I will post if I feel it is necessary, but in many cases the reviews are enough for me to get by. In my opinion, if you continue to allow people like TY post this nonsense, then it just becomes a cluster**** like craigs.
In addition, some people say that TY has a right to post because he is a member. Well I would be very interested to know how many of his reviews are legit. He only has seen a handful of woman and just about all of them are from craigs with little or no reviews. In addition, the woman seem to all work for the same agency. It's one thing to allow continuous posts from a "paid" member, but another to allow this nonsense from someone who may not be for real.
They have been questioned in several past threads on here. I'm not sure what TER does to police that part, but if he/she is posting bogus shill reviews, then my saying "he paid his dues" goes out the window. It's one thing to be obnoxious. It's an altogether different thing to be a fraud.
