Philly is definitely overpriced. I travel to SF a lot and find it much more economical to seek providers there. I wouldn't mind paying $$$ for a nice time, but there are so many that run $$$+ with little or no info on the provider.
This girl Amanda toured Philly a few weeks ago. I saw her picture in EROS-Philly and like her look but not her $$$+ rate so I passed it. Now she is touring Baltimore for only $$1/2. Providers know that Philly is low in competition and many are charging more for Philly visit. I am reviewing Eros Philly daily and is getting harder to find hot bodies under $$$.
I will probably get ripped for this but I think of it this way. Each market drives a different price in just about everything. If there is less compitition then the price is usually higher. Cable internet access is a great example. Look how high it is around philly and yet you can go up to northern or out to western pa and pay half for the same service.
As a rule, I find the ladies are worth what you donate. You can get away with donating less than $$1/2, but is that the style of lady you want to spend time with.
Apparently the market demands it and we are paying it.
Part of the market is what buyers are willing to pay. It's been brought up here before that guys should stick together and refuse to pay more than a certain amount, and this might have some effect.
maybe this frugal attitude is the reason why some of the higher quality services seem to bypass Philly eg belle de jour. remember, just like any hobby there are different levels of quality which is usually reflected in the price. we are not at a collective bargaining table. usually if you NEED to ask for the price, in all liklihood you cannot afford it.
It doesn't really cost that much to travel to other cities if their selection, quality, and prices are better. I'd just let the free market play its hand.
Yo Jim, I would just like to get some opinions why some of the higher quality providers (again I mention BDJ) seem to avoid Philly like the plague. Also DC & Boston Eros postings are much more extensive than Philadelphia. Adam Smith seems to be saying that Philly is an undesirable stop on their "tours". Why is that? I hope Philly doesn't have the same rep as Baltimore (a real sh*thole). Maybe the Philly customers are cheap? rude? Like to hear your or anybody else's rational insight. To quote Barrzini "After all, we are not communists!"
Philly's more of a blue collar working class city, so you shouldn't compare Philly to DC or Boston, but to other blue collar cities like Pittsburgh or Cleveland. I think it is due mostly to lower demand for the service than anything else.
