I for one have never tried to negotiate a price. If I feel that the price is higher than the service offered should warrant, I will simply not contact that provider or not schedule an appointment. I have asked about items that may or may not be on the menu, but never tried to force a provider to do something not on the menu. When time and circumstances allow, I will bring a small gift, such as a bouquet of flowers, for the girl. I try not to arrive late but actually a few minutes early, letting her know by telephone that I have arrived on location and that she is not getting stood up. My recent blow-out with a visiting provider has already been documented in my review and several posts on this board. Considering the person bashing our city did it based upon NYC, perhaps that someone should compare the Consumer Price Index for the two metropolitan areas in question and see why it is that higher fees can be received there: put simply, most things in NYC are more costly than they are in Philadelphia, thus it is not unfair for someone to charge a higher fee and make more money there over the course of a week. Are some guys barbarians who think that they can buy a Porsche for the price of a Yugo? Yes, but considering NYC is about 5 times more populous than Philly, I make the statistical observation that there are 5 times more barbarians there than there are here. Sounds to me like a baseless complaint.
I kind of doubt it, as there are a certain amount of jerks in every crowd.
Sure, I try to be a gentleman, too. I try to be timely, I don't take advantage of the ladies, I don't insist on things that are off the menu. Am I perfect? Surely not!
As far as the pricing; yes, it takes a bigger part of my budget than I prefer. Yes, I suppose they earn more in NYC, but it varies among us here, too. Basically, we can patronize the ones we can afford. If that means that the higher-priced ladies have to adjust their prices to get business, well that is just market economics. Meanwhile, we can choose who to patronize, and we can save our pennies if we want some of the pricier services. I'm loathe to ask for a lower rate. It's not my nature.
I think what r bear is suggesting in his post is very simple: Let's think about our behavior. Instead of protesting our innocence, let's decide to put our best foot forward every time. Is that too hard for we adults to handle? Didn't think so.
