As a provider, do you keep records with information about your clients? Such as names and phone numbers?
I always delete personal info on clients, unless they want their e-mail on a mailing list, or keep their number if we get cancellations. I always delete my call list at the end of the day. I have a pretty good memory and remember everyone by their e-mail and phone number. Now why do you ask this question?

If you keep a list of "bad" clients only, how do you know that the guy using you as a reference actually saw you?
It only makes sense that you keep some sort of list of info.
I have a pretty good memory. I ALWAYS remember someone, if they give me their e-mail address and the name of the lady that they saw and where they saw them, how much time they spent. I know it's ludacris but I do remember. As long as the lady who asks for a reference also includes the corresponding e-mails he and I exchanged to set up an appointment. And anything to jog my memory.

So you are saying that anyone who gets a reference from you is placing their safety & well being on your flawless memory?
I can guarantee that I have never put anyone in danger. I would remember something substancial about one gent. And I do have nicknames for everyone who become regulars. That's why I always prefer screening with work information. To be honest, I really do not get a lot of references, because majority of my clients just keep coming back. If I do get a reference, it's a regular client who I know very well (1-5 years). We are low volume so it's not like I'm a revolving door that doesn't know who comes and in and out.....LOL

i can't speak for others, but i have no reason to keep a client list. i never call clients so there's no reason to maintain one. if people give me business cards than i hold onto them i guess because i think they want me to.. but i've never used them to call anyone.
i see the same guys over and over agian. not a bad thing btw. but most girls memories can be jogged if not just by name, but by little things or a combination of them like the amount of body hair he has, the color of the carpet in his house, the hotel and the weather the night she went to do the outcall or the particular hotel she used when she saw him.
most of us do not see that many guys. agencies are a different story. how do you remember when you never spent time with the person, possibly never talked to the person because someone else in the office did and there are ten or twenty or thirty as many guys ?
I ask the question because when you ask for personal information for "your safety", I understand that it is necessary. But when a session is complete I worry about "my safety" if my personal information were stored on a hard drive somewhere.
Beyond that, we offer e-mailing lists for clients who ask us to keep them informed of our models' travel plans.
We also offer a monthly contest on our Yahoo group. The winner receives a discount on a future appointment. The winner is chosen by email address.

When the appointment is over... all I keep is a first name aa region (I tour alot) and a "pet" name that will remind me of my time spent with the person and their email address (with permission of course).

Most inde do, but they will tell you they won't. How are they going to remember and provide their own protection if they see hundreds of clients a year. If you give out your personal info, you have to assume that it will be in someone's record.
Agencies generally don't ask or keep personal record because they are more concerned about LE than safety. Agencies have a buddy system to provide safety protection. Inde work alone and must be concerned about safety and bad behaved clients. This is why I prefer agencies to inde because screening is much easier.

OK..you say most indies keep info for their own safety and for future client references. I cant speak for all indies, but will say there's less of a chance an indie is gonna keep ur info than an agency. In the past 2-3 mos ALONE how many stories have we seen where agencies have been busted, and A LOT of client info was found on the computer..in one case I recall LE found info on more than 2,000 clients!! With the volume of business and the software they use, they seem to keep Extensive records, and have little or no regard for ANYone's "safety"..client OR gal.
Any info I get from screening/verification is never kept..it's of NO use to me! I know those I see by email addy ONLY..just easier for me, I guess. As far as "remembering a client" come time to provide a reference, all that gent has to say to me is "hey..it's [email protected]...". I have never not been able to remember a client, for whatever reason. Again, I can only speak for myself, as low volume as I am, but, hey..it works for me! I NEVER EVER solicit anyone who has seen me..ever, be it by email, phone, etc. Those who know me, know the drill!!

Why would you even bother to ask the question? Do you think that any provider who does hold onto it would admit to holding onto it? No offense meant, but you're naive. If you participate in this "hobby", you are at risk for being busted and MUST assume that ALL providers not only hold onto the info, but readily exchange it with others and leave it out on their kitchen table or PC for all to see. Yeah, I see the responses where providers say they don't keep the info, and that's great. But they are in the minority.
Go two threads down and open the link about the "Julie bust". This is a direct quote from the article...

I'm travel quite a bit myself and I do keep emails and names of people I've seen or won't see again. This is how I am able to offer references to others. I won't be able to say much unless I've seen him a few times. If I am used as a reference, the only thing I can tell a provider is that I have seen him or won't see him again. My email list are kept on another email not the one that I use for business. Stay safe everyone.

Excellent post, well said. Some go to extemes as far as documenting info in such "detail". My mother always said "don't give them enough ammunition"...Discretion is crucial.
Why bother? Curiosity as to the responses. I know that you can only take replies at their face value. There are no guarantees. By the way, yes there were providers who admitted to holding info. So, I guess it is safe to say that there are no stupid questions. Just stupid people. I guess you hear that alot sutquig...

I bet that EVERY DAY many providers are busted, some well known and some not, besides tons of agencies and massage parlors.
Everyone in this business have records of some sort...even johns like to keep their own diaries listing all their escapades.
If you're not caught with your pants down and IN THE ACT of soliciting or performing paid sex you don't have to worry.
LE is not going to waste time and public money to call hundreds of johns first name and obscure scribbled notes providers have in their appts books.

I partially agree. No, I have never received a call from anyone about any activities except from a provider who was a little weird. However, I do know someone who was contacted by LE after a bust. Denial was his answer and he never heard back again. There are even mulicipalities that post the names for all to see in the paper.
As for me, there is always that litle fear in my mind that I may get busted. There is no doubt about it, the risk is there. The initial poster here asked a question about records keeping and think I provided a truthfull answer.
