I voted in between classes today. I had originally planed to get up at 7am and place my vote, but alas, that attempt was futile since I had a take home exam that was due at 11am today.
Surprisingly enough, it only took me 15 minutes to vote. While I had expected long lines, I was able to breeze right in and press buttons. How cool!
When I exited the building my neighbor was outside handing out " I voted stickers ( Obama). While receiving the sticker and placing it on my shirt, I asked her, " How do you know I voted for Obama?"
We laughed and exchanged a few words before I headed home.
If you time it right, the voting process can take only a few minutes...
Please, for the sake of this country and your own peace of mind, listen to me and Shane...Get out and vote.
Everyone over the age of 18, please do not forget to vote~ I know we are all sick and tired of hearing it. The good thing is that we will not hear about all the voting crap for another 3 years!
So if your a Donkey or Elephant or neither...please vote.

I have just returned home from placing my vote. The line wasn't bad at all. Like those who posted before me I agree.......vote !
Yep, voted at 10 this morning. Since I work from home, I have the luxury of going when I think the crowds will be the smallest. Still had a half hour or so wait, but it's worth it. And FWIW, I voted "Blue!"

no i do not mean to sound cruel or be mean in any way but instead of asking every last person to pull a leaver don't you think there should be some type of test before they can pull? Seriously if you go out on the street right now and ask people in line question about either candidate and the issues they are for and against how many would know?
don't get me wrong i think it is great to get as many people out to vote but don't you think they should know what they are voting for?

did not mean to be ignorant but when you have someone going around asking people who they are voting for then using the opponents positions and they agree you think they are an informed voter? i heard a few different iterations from around the country, question who will you vote for? - answer Obama - question do you think he made a smart choice in picking Sarah Palin as his running mate - answer 'yes i do'

Actually it's not a constitutional right to vote. The 26th amendment only guarantees you cannot be withheld from voting based on age and it's why if you are committed of a federal crime that privilege can be taken away.
I don't agree with this but legally voting is not a right.
Maybe the one of the "eligible voter" questions could be "do you know how to spell lever?" WTF is a "leaver"? LOL!

For as much coverage they had for the Presidency, I guess I assumed everyone should know at least one issue on hand.
I got plenty of emails, phone calls, tv commericals, newspapers, internet and regular mail that I know who is running nationally as well as locally.
See, I believe that the American people have valid reasons for who they chose.
I also ready the biography on both candidates.
I really did my homework on the both of them.

I thought the term "colored" was only used south of the Mason-Dixon line.
Being a southern girl myself, I'm compelled to respond with this: "Colored", white...excuse me, I mean Caucasians( let's be politically correct here ) and Hispanics and all other nationalities are offering discounts because of the crappy economy due to a Caucasian president! Maybe it will take a colored dude to get into the White house, to work with the senate( be them Caucasian or Colored) to make things better for all races and nationalities ( as well as the economy)... who knows...Maybe my thoughts are far fetched. We still have a few more hours to see what happens in the polls.
Excuse me, I've got to go get laid( by one of my favorite Philly boys) and then work on my mid term.
BTW, we haven't been called colored since the 70's. We're now called African Americans. Kindly make a note of it.

As to my comment...I did say it was very tongue in cheek. Maybe you ladies are too young to know the meaning of that, but it means I was just joking. Hell, the "colored girls" reference was to an old Lou Reed song that again you both may be too young to recall.
For the record, I voted for Obama. Furthermore, Like Michelle Obama, last night I felt as proud of my country as I ever have in my lifetime. Not only because a minority candidate was elected, but because he's smart, compassionate and I think will prove to be a great leader. Thank God the gray, tired greedy "privileged" class has been voted out. This is change I can and do believe in, and today I'm very proud of my country.
So I apologize if my not so PC joke went over badly, but I really do believe we're on the same side here!

I voted after work, took about 5 minutes. Too many people have made too many sacrifices for our right to vote. If you do not participate in this process you forfeit your right to complain about anything government related. ( you would be surprised how much is government related).
