An opinion ? It happens. Both ways. Hopefully you'll get an explanation.

If you follow the board, you will hear a lot about no show appointments. Here is one just last week.

It seems to be getting worse with proliferation of unreliable indys coming to Philly.  This is why I prefer to use agencies.

It's hard to say if it is getting worse or just more people discussing this on the boards.  I'm sure this has happened to everyone at least once, and personally I average about 2-3 a year.

After awhile you just have to realize it's part of the business.

It's reassuring to hear that others have had the experience. A well-known provider, who visits here  regularly and whom I've seen several times over a few years, has done it to me twice in the past ten months. Both times we made an appointment, I was told to call her in the last hour before our meeting to learn her location, and  then she did not answer her phone. The first time an explanation was sent, the second time one was not, and she did not respond to two e-mails asking what had happened. It's surprising because she's a well-established presence here and in other cities.

I happens to both sides.  I for one have NEVER (and I stand by this) stood up or cancelled for no reason at all.  In the beginning of my career yes I flaked quite a bit and got called on it, but that was 8 years ago lol.

It is unprofessional, and rude that she left you hanging. But let's face it, it's a flaky business altogether.  I am a 1 date a day provider (by choice) and if someone cancels at the last minute that throws off my whole day.  I do not double book or have anyone standing by just incase.  I have been lucky to have 9 out of 10 gents show up.

Not all ladies in the business are like this, there are a few still reliable independent ladies that have a good professional work ethic.  If you call this provider on her BS, and boycot her for a little while then maybe she'll straighten up.

Second choices, that can be reached with minimal notice, is sometimes a worthy alternative strategy.

I find the excitement and expectation of the appointment extremely fun. When an unforeseen event causes a cancelation my heart never seems to understand the let down!

Nothing worse than sitting in a car waiting.  Then no answer or explaination.  My suggestion is when it happens head over to the local AMP and take care of business.
Suggestion for top providers that have to flake, give us the $150 discount the AMP will cost us off the 2nd hour for cancelling with no notice.  Or third hour.

Funny, but I care less than I used to, as this is just a flaky business. If I get an explanation - as things DO happen - then I'd try again. Twice and it's done. I'm much more able now to 'miss out' on someone than I was in the past.

In a way I feel bad because it's 'lowered expectations' of people's conduct. And I can say this because I have NEVER - not once - bailed on an appointment.

I have only had it happen with Agencies. It happened with 4 PS thru agencies. It has yet to happen with a direct booking, but odds are it eventually will.

I will only see indys locally during my time off.  It's never worth to take road trip or time off to see indys given the high probability of NS.

I don't know exactly if I am more experienced,...but...I was NC/NSed by a Philly indy gal who is VERY well-reviewed here AFTER multiple e-mails, texts, and conversations just an hour before her outcall to me appt. She even asked for my lingerie preference a few days beforehand!! I was shocked! It stinks, because I have been waiting for a couple years to see her! Oh well. No explanations were offered.

It's hard to understand why so many providers, even well reviewd ones, are doing it routinely and still can get biz.  The frequency of complaints like this has been increasing.  This is not a national trend but a Philly trend as I rarely read about it in other boards.  Is there something wrong with the water here?

There is one well-reviewed provider that seems to have had a pattern of this behavior in the past and came up with a program to get her credibility back. I recently had two incidents with her on a first appointment for NC/NS. She never provided an explanation so I stopped responding to her attempt to set up another appointment. How many times does it take before they get the message? This is a 'flakey business' - true but I require the same courtesy that I extend to others. I don't take it personally since there are always going to be circumstances that come up -- but when there is no explanation that follows and the pattern repeats I move on to other alternatives...
