Okay so I get a ton of requests to visit Philly, and I'm desperate to escape the miserable weather in Ohio, but I know very little about touring there (in fact, it has a pretty bad reputation amongst the ladies for being the cancellation/NCNS capital of the country). Anything anyone can tell me? Neighborhoods, general clientele stuff, etc. would be very helpful. Thanks, y'all!

P.S. My all-time favorite comedian doesn't care for Philly, but he was probably getting paid way less at the time.

 Philadelphia:  
   
 Center City ("CC") is the main business and cultural part of town. This area features many hotels, restaurants of all types, the areas finest museums and cultural points and other amenities. CC is best for businessmen who can break away during the business day. The lack of free parking is an obstacle to some hobbyists, but some of the hotels in the airport area also charge for parking. Another issue is that the better hotels require a key card to activate the elevator, so some maneuvering may be required. As would be expected, hotel prices are generally higher than in the suburbs.  
   
 Another city possibility is in the Penn Landing area, near the river front. The Hyatt is the nicest seems to be the nicest hotel along the river and there is nice Sheraton in the nearby Society Hill-Old City area. You are a bit isolated in this part of town but that may not be an issue if you tend to keep to your hotel.  
   
 King of Prussia:  
   
 Another big Hobby area is King of Prussia ("KOP"). This a western suburban area marked by two large shopping malls, many hotels and restaurants. The downside is that it is a trek for those of who live in CC, the eastern suburbs or New Jersey. Also, LE is most active in KOP, but you see lots of ads for ladies setting up shop there, so who knows for sure?    
   
 Plymouth Meeting and Willow Grove:  
   
 Two other suburban areas receiving more attention are Plymouth Meeting and Willow Grove. These areas are east of KOP near the PA Turnpike and also have malls, restaurants and hotels, but less LE activity. Transportation can be a problem in the suburbs, so it would be wise to see what hotels have shuttles to either the airport or the 30th Street Amtrak train station.  I believe there are trains (SEPTA) to Norristown, and from there you can take a cab or shuttle to the hotels  
   
 Airport:  
   
 This is a favorite nesting area for ladies and hobbyists because of its many moderately priced hotels, the availability of free or cheap parking and the relative anonymity of the place.  There are few amenities in the area. Travelers can get to CC by hotel shuttle, a train or by cab. There are paid shuttle services that go to the hotels in South Jersey.  
   
 New Jersey Suburbs:    
   
 The South Jersey towns of Cherry Hill and Mt. Laurel are busy hobby destinations since they are near the New Jersey Turnpike, I-295 and are not far from Ph in South Jersey have some appeal. Traffic seems to be less of an issue and hotel prices are lower. LE in Mt. Laurel is more active than in Cherry Hill. A car is a necessity as cab service is spotty.  
   
 There are also a few chain hotels near the shopping centers in Deptford where a few providers will set up shop.

Haha that Burr clip is brilliant.  Don't blame the folks in Philly for the one.. Those are the O&A fans.  I remember that happened.  It was great.

I cant speak for other towns or even much for this town, but i know some very good providers who come here often.  You have great reviews and i would think that would help you in securing and keeping appts.  If the timing worked i'd love to schedule time with you.  But i've convinced a couple of providers to come to philly and it worked for one and not the other.  I hope you visit and i hope you have a great experience.  One of those things though, you probably wont know until you do it.  

Several world class touring ladies come through on a regular basis and they have a terrific time. I am not sure where that NCNS reputation comes from but it is unfair. Maybe those rumors come from providers who want the city all to themselves

i think you'll find from many of our review lists that top providers do in fact tour Philly and often tie it into a trip with either NYC, DC, or both. It's very easy to get to either city on Amtrack (provided it stays on the rails!) from Philadelphia. There are quite a few hotels that do not require card access and hobbyists would be happy to point you to those when you're ready make plans.  

P.S.  I'd love to meet the famous Tobi Telford and find out what GQMan has been hiding away over there in the mid-west!

In Philly - as Philly - I feel very safe - because I do not see more then one requested nice date at time - as I said come at afternoon and morning or same  night back to NYC

First of all there be other contingent of dates- as they will ask the most for h  and half -
 yet it is VERY uncomfy and NOT SAFE invite dates let s say as King of Prussia -
 
It is only one place -  KOP
Where I was offered free upgrade to "WOMEN ONLY" wing..
 I even wonder - is that such hotels do exist ? Hotels  which have suites  
where ONLY women allowed??.. Some one knows??

I said - I do travel not alone and I have BF with me - thanks I have had date which was single and he did not care to be added to the hotel reservation- it feels safer - when they have couple checked in .

 Then there was a cop in hotel 24/7 and we almost become friends ..smiled to each other when I was in and out, asking how are you, how is your day?

But I tell you true- I did cancel - ALL what was set.
 ALL  
And sense then I just become low volume and expensive - as to see only dates who able book ONE DATE AT TIME as 2- 3 hours.

Prebook  such. I woud not risk in PA see many at same place - OR  
 other option how I do -
 I take  two hotels for same day ..
given of course - 2 - 3 hours is booked ..
 I do drive between hotels or take TAXI  
 
I NEVER SEE 2- 3 men from sam,e hotel!!!  
 PA as to me - the most not friendly to providers as about hotels
 They do ask questions and they do look when you walk in to hotel.. security would look at you as you are movie star.

On date - and OUT !!  
 
I would not jeopardize myself and my gentlemen.

 And there I have few nice regulars- Easy to get to  30 station by train or by bus  and there is few hotels with 5 min Taxi or 15 walking

A touring lady told me that, despite her best efforts, she really doesn't choose the city, the city chooses her!

A combination of the tastes of the mongering men in the area and the flow of funds available to those mongers.

She took a shot and it paid off in Philly.  A different city that she thought would be great, based on her conversation with other ladies....was not so great. It's the invisible hand at work.

Hopefully, that invisible hand will tickle your fancy....and your other ticklish parts as well!!
