Is it a decent area?  Thoughts regarding incall convenience for the guys?  Any feedback appreciated!  There happens to be awesome hotel deals there through hotwire that also indicates it is near interests I would like to see when I visit.

Welcome.  IMHO, Penn's Landing is a great day-time spot because of ease of street parking.  Nights may become a hassle, though.  And yes, the area is decent.  It's kept fairly clean to encourage tourism.  You'll be fine there.  Have a nice trip.

Olde City is the historic district. Liberty Bell, Elfreths Alley, Betsy Ross House, etc, all within a few blocks. Great place

I ended up getting a hotel over there because of the price and almost everything in Center City was sold out. I can let you know how it works out next week.

there is a lot to see and do (as others have posted...) I would add one. If you get a chance you can walk across the Ben Franklin Bridge and the view of the city from there is spectacular.

Also, there are a lot of restaurants (small and not so small) in the area... that offer a very wide variety of food...  While most work in Center City (which is a very short cab hop to the west...) getting to old town is not much of a problem... and as Heather will find out - the view from some of the rooms in the Hyatt are spectacular!  Only drawback?  sometimes while driving in old town, you get behind a horse drawn carriage!  and they do go a bit slow....

Best wine bar in the city is in the Panorama Restaurant which is in the lobby of the Penns View hotel... Which has Jacuzzis in the rooms! lol!!  Enjoy!

The old city area is very nice but parking isn't the best for the "guys".

I would suggest finding a nice place near the airport. The airport is easy to access and parking is also very easy.  The airport is also close enough for you to take a quick taxi over to the old city area to check out the sites.
