There has been occasional chatter over the past year or so on the general unreliability (and lack of safety) of the ads posted on CL. It seems that not a week passess without some post bemoaning the B&S tendencies there or LE's activity throughout the country using CL. I have noticed, however, that some ladies on TER (even though they might have their own personal websites and several reviews on TER) maintain a presence on CL. Why is that? I would think the reputation and liabilities with being on that site would far outway any additional market exposure one might get being listed there. I can understand why a given lady might want multiple marketing sources (i.e. several website ads), but why use CL? Speaking personally, I feel a little nervous making appointments with a lady who is listed on CL (even if she is well reviewed on TER) since the site is on LE's radar. I am curious to hear how others in the community (both guys and ladies) feel.
the risk is high, and the potential for rip off is great.... mostly these are outcall? and I prefer incall. so that kind of narrows the possiblities as well.... just too many ifs.
First of all, one shouldn't paint all of the ladies who post on CL with one brush. Not that you are, but you do mention their reputation would suffer if they posted on CL. I don't agree with that since it's not like CL is an agency. All different types post there from street-walkers to MILFs nervously looking for their first client.
I am aware of some independents who stay away from CL for security reasons and I can understand that and I do feel safer seeing someone who doesn't post on CL. However, CL is like a scab you keep picking - it's hard to stay away (as a hobbyist and maybe even as a provider looking for free advertising). Whatever you might be looking for, a new diamond in the rough, a very affordable session when the hobby funds are low, etc., CL is a good place to look. Doing a little homework before you take the plunge, e.g., looking for reviews, communicating with the ad poster, etc., can reduce the risk. But, I certainly don't think any less of the ladies who post ads on CL.
That CL is a forum that is used throughout this country.In many states CL is as popular and is considered as and maybe even more reliable than EROS. It just so happens that we in Philly have made CL a less than positive experience. Many great ladies have been found"Diamonds in the rough" and have gone on to be well reviewed providers. CL ladies just require a little more research but there are good values to be found there.
I have to echo christoph's comments. Generalizing all the providers on CL as ripoffs or worthless is wrong. I've taken chris' recommendations on 1 CL provider and she was well worth it. In addition, I just finsihed adding a review for a CL girl in the Detroit area and she was incredible! Granted, there is the "crap" factor on CL but for the most part I have made sure to do my homework using the TER search function and the discussion forums, but I am convinced that CL can be a good option with research and effort.
I comfortably say that an advertising medium is what you make of it.
In the beginning, I was contacted by a lot of undesirable characters, and in hindsight, a lot of LE. Recognizing that I was different, several hobbyists turned my attention to TER.
CL is what it is-free and immediate. Obviously you will have a wide range of serivice quality and clientele.
If I have gotten out of class early, or have a day off from work...what better way to let people know "I'm available last minute and I'm horny"?
Its funny that TER members complain so loudly about CL-whenever I post an ad, the majority of the response is from active TER reviewers who look at the site daily. I've met some great guys from CL, a few who weren't familiar with "the hobby" and had wandered in from Casual Encounters, a few who can't look at Eros or TER at work, a few who were looking for an "arrangement" a la sugar daddies, a few who were a little daunted by the prospect of a pro and who were looking for something inbetween.
Being nervous about booking with a woman who has an ad on CL is ridiculous in my opinion. TER is on LE radar. Eros is on LE radar. BD is on LE radar. You better believe that if it is an escort mall or listing it has eyes watching it and LE attempting funny business with the models listed.
I am currently doing my first tour. First stop? DC. Many many cancellations from TERmites. I lament having not used CL with more frequency to let guys know that a well-reviewed girl was sitting in a luxurious 4-star waiting. Second stop? Boston. I've been posting on CL since before I arrived and have received more complete, thorough reservation forms from that listing than my Eros advertisement. Its what you make of it, its presentation. If you see a well-reviewed girl who is advertising there, she has her reasons and its not desparation (lol). Keep an open mind.
