I'll second that....

Originally when one was proposed by Lana, there was a great deal of concern that this would result in "issues."  We have now had two, with no issues, except the one issue of appropriate compensation to the hostess for going through the trouble (IMHO we should compenstate her more for her efforts on our behalf).

Lana has chosen two excellent locations with WONDERFUL food and drink and atmosphere that is beyond compare.  The people have been entertaining and actually "known" on the boards - lets face it, they are interesting and enjoyable.  A good blend of Hobbiests and Providers, Locals and Visitors.

To all that have not participated...  I would suggest that you be on the lookout for these.  They have changed my opinions on a lot of things.. enforced or strengthened my opinions on others, but all in all the evenings have been fun.  What are they "Really like"?  they are "Really Like" a group of friends going out for an evening of fun.... that is it!

to some of the providers in Philly who have not participated, I recommend it... Good advertisement... and a way to "Get away" for an evening...  of amusement!  Yea, the guys entertain the gals!  We are sooooo easy! lol....  Just good old fashioned fun... Solana, thanks again!

People often ask me if I have any girlfriends I can call and my response has always been no. I was thrilled to have met other great ladies and to have the chance to show the Philly group who I really am. I'm so glad I went.

Solana was running around like a Hamptons PR girl so I agree that there should be a little "pooling" on her behalf.

Thank you again all who welcomed me and for making me part of your intimate and lovely group!

Boston is about to have its second and M&G's are regularly heald in DC. Done correctly (which starts with proper screening) they are probably even less dangerous than meeting a provider.

Relax ladies and gents, it's still not illegal for a group of friends or strangers to gather in a public place.

get to some of the M&Gs!  I totally understand about the CP thing!  but take heart, there are new discovery's every day, and maybe one in time.

I still have to make a DC one as they are indeed an inspirational crowd!  Take care.

Nadia and myself would like to first thank Lana for the time and effort she put out for this party. She is not a member yet but will be very soon. It is a shame that I arrived a little late with my date Nadia. We missed half of the cocktail time and did not get a chance to talk to everyone. To those at my table it was very nice spending time with the lovely women and nice gentlemen. I enjoyed meeting some new friends and hopefully we do this again before the summer is over.

We left the party late at around 11PM and ended up on South Street. I would love to see a group of us out in public after this. The fun we had by ourselves was great. But I can just imagine what a group of us could do to a bar scene or club. The rest of the night was a blast also.

But there is to many things for me to write about in a review. So I will save you guys the trouble of reading another long review of mine and just say that fun was had by all. The cocktail time before was very nice. The food was fabulously prepared and blew away my expectations. The guests that I met were a bunch of very warm, intelligent, and nice people. The city life after is always the best.

Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen

hmm - the concept of a meet and greet does intrigue me but to be frank, I don't know if I like being public about my hobby. Curious as to "status" of those who attend - single, married, etc - is it a true sample of hobbyists?  Enquiring minds want to know...

Sounds like a good idea Bizz. Something like this is tough to advertise. I must have missed both, cuz I never heard about either one.
Hopefully, the third time will be the charm.

I didn't mean to imply that my disability kept me away. Actually, I think it's my personality that keeps me from getting invited. {Just kidding}

Unfortunately, I will be away during the upcoming Boston M&G. However, I hope to get to to a Philly or DC gathering in the future.

Serioiusly, I have to admit, that if you were to walk into the place, you would NOT be able to pick us out.... in fact, I always have to look for one or two of the folks that I know!

I have been in restaurants on business dinners, and have seen what looks like office parties far more out of hand that the TER group....  I was actually one of the more frazzled ones there.  I had just concluded a meeting that went 2 hours over, I did not get a chance to get to the gym to "freshen up" or to even work out...  which I like to do... so, I was kinda stinky to me!

BUT that said, the ladies dress nicely, but ya kinda can tell what they are "like" and we kinda keep the reason a bit low key...  I have to say, it is a gentle community!  a bunch of friends or business associates having dinner together.  not much else could you tell.  I cannot speak to the marital status of anyone at the m&G except me... and I am divorced...

Several of the gents are business people, and several of the ladies are actually in other businesses... so there is no "obviousness" about the gathering.

I've had a great time at both gatherings, and I can confirm that we blend in pretty well - the first one I thought there were plenty of "civilian" women dressed more provocatively than the TER ladies (Nadia stood out a little this time, but how can a beautiful, statuesque blonde in a little red dress NOT stand out? :-)

Dawn and I went to Show 'n Tell, but I think next time a bunch of us should go to Delilah's Den or Club Risque - something a little more upscale.  SnT is like a rowdy frat party, young crowd, SRO mostly, BYOB.  We need a place with a lounge, where the girls can come to us...

I don't know how Solana does it, but she really picked two great restaurants -- both had excellent food and service, and both were places I'd never have tried without the M&G.  That said, the best part was the free-wheeling conversation with an interesting bunch of people.  I'm already excited about the next one!

As you all know, I do this for the community and to get the camaraderie going. I do it as a public service.  I appreciate all the thank you's and the offers for help, but I tend to get more organized if I am doing it alone.

Sorry if I was running around like a Hampton's PR girl like Laney said, but someone had to keep the party going?  As always, I look forward to the next one.

Like Bizzaro said, I would encourage more of the locals to participate since this is OUR board and community.  My only disappointment is that a lot of the guys and girl who couldn't attend didn't even care to tell me they weren't coming.....Oh well!  Courtesy still applies here you know.

Also thanks for offering $$$ for my efforts, any $$$ is appreciated.  Until the next!

Solana

...seriously, none of us wants someone to glare, point or declare judgement on us. We dress for public and leave the red satin underneath for later!
