I pose this question to my fellow hobbyist because I think there may be discrepancy in how we all perceive this action.
If you do not speak to and confirm your appointment on the day of the appointment is that a NCNS.
I asks this because I do not consider an appointment confirmed until I speak to the provider on the day of the appointment.
I will not get in my car and drive anywhere without hearing from the provider.
Now.... if I speak to her and tell her I am on my way, and she tells me all is good. Then I get to the hotel and I am sitting in the lobby or bar twiddling my thumbs like some kinda sucker waiting to get the room number for an hour + No call no show. Then yes I am pissed.
Is that the same... as I got an email confirmation a week ago for my Sunday appointment. I have no contact since that time no hotel no room number. I don't even know if the provider made it to the city.
Please let me clarify one thing. My recent posts below did not in anyway try to justify or condone Macy's alleged NCNS of multiple.
If I make an appointment with a provider more than a week in advance (which I usually do, as my schedule requires it), and I don't hear from her at least the night before, I don't have any real expectations for a confirmed appointment. Many times I have had appointments not go through with the above scenerio, and I don't consider them NCNS. Only recently have I had a true NCNS, with a favorite of mine, but the situation was later explained.
My (our) cases were that we'd set everything up (email AND phone call) and were waiting for the final call for the hotel location/room - which was prearranged for Macy to call at Noon.
I see potential differences, but to me it's as much semantics as anything else. The only difference was possibly saving us a trip. I also will not take the drive - but would that have guaranteed her presence if I had made the drive? I'm not so sure....
People are sick of hearing about it. Grow up. This is EXACTLY why there was a lack of communication!
Then tell everyone else to shut up, youself included!!!

There's no closure because you never offered an explanation. That's all anyone here wants. Clearly, you do not have an explanation, so it continues. You would think a genius MENSA member would be able to figure that out (her MENSA claims always give me a good laugh).

What a coincidence that you pose this question after your numerous posts defending Macy. NCNS differs between agency and independents. A recent experience I had was an indy calling @ 2pm confirming a 7pm appointment at my house. Said she would call when she was leaving about 6:30 for directions. She never called, never showed. I'd call that NCNS. If on a Friday I confirm a 5pm meeting @ my house on Sunday and the girl says she'll call around 3pm to confirm & get directions and then never calls or show that also is NCNS.
My interpretation is this.
I have a strict policy concerning this which requires confirmation one day prior. If a confirmation is not made, there is no date. If I do receive a confirmation, the date is scheduled, carved in stone.
For all intents and purposes, if the client does not call or show at the appointed time, he is a NCNS. There is no excuse for this behavior and it is not tolerated. Common courtesy and a little consideration, not to mention professionalism, goes a long way.
I have a one strike and you're out rule.

If a guy is nc/ns by a lady and then whines and whines and whines about it wouldn't you think at some point it would sink into his cranium that maybe, just MAYBE, he would have had a lousy time with her anyway? And that MAYBE he's been done a big favor and got to pocket his hard-earned money for somebody with whom he'll have a better time? I've been nc/ns and had appointments canceled at the last minute on me by ladies in the past. Was I disappointed? Sure. Did I let it ruin my day and endlessly bitch about it? No. Grow up and grow a pair. Shit happens, deal with it.
The old phrase "everything happens for a reason" applies to the hobby, too. We all heard your complaints. Now it's time to move on and find somebody else. It's not like there's a dearth of providers.

It's ironic that there may be 10 times more clients NCNS than providers. Yet, it's always the clients who complained and only once a long while I hear providers bitch about no shows. Yes, it's not fair but the client is paying for the service and he is entitled to complain for bad customer relationship. This is no difference from only clients write reviews, not the providers. Posting legit NCNS in the board is one way to provide feed back to bad customer service.
I've been stood up a few times by indy, but not once with agencies. It's the headache schedule for indy to run her biz and slipping appointmens occasionally is inevitable. I bet Indy expereince more NCNS clients than agencies too. Agencies will drop NCNS clients and the clients know about it and don't want to jeopardize their relationship.
We don't write reviews. We let our reputations speak. All the bunk gets sorted out shortly thereafter.
