Can someone explain to me what the point of this is?
It's a Meet and Greet! Events like this have been around for decades. Back in the early 2000's I used to host them in NYC. Nothing happened at the event since they were held in public places. Once you see who is on the list, then you can decide if you want to meet someone before or after. If not, you may meet someone and then decide down the road to meet her. If I was in town I would consider going.
We had one last year in Philly and it was a huge success. I didn't attend the ones in NYC until mid 2000s thru 2018ish. Wish someone would bring them back to NYC.
