as I was walking the streets the other day, I happened to pick up a copy of PW and CV!  and as I did when I first started hobbying 4-5 years ago (has it been that long! lol)  I looked at the adult entertainment ads... and noticed a complete lack of specific things... sure sure, we still have the AMPs... BUT !  I can remember a place that went under a variety of names... "Steam" was one of them...  then there was Morgan's Mansion - then there were others... that came and went...

There is now a complete absence of these ads...  wha happened... yea, I remember the busts... but you would think that someone would take their place - or have I been sidelined?   and don't quite know what to look for?

Curious, as these places were GREAT for a spur of the moment drop in...

Me thinks that these establishments of yesteryear have been replaced by the supposed safety and relative anonymity of the internet.  You've got to embrace the technology, brother!

I am referring to me, as I remember Steam from 15 years ago.  The arrangements offered advantages not now available.  You could go in and meet up to 5 or 6 different women and choose to your liking.  Greek seemed always included and it was sub $$.  If you found an ATF, you'd go back 5-6 times in succession, until you got over her.  I followed "Angel" to a succession of different locations over several years, it was a hoot.  Once she came to the door in what looked like a wedding dress, another time three of the women were running around the house with a strap ons, looking to try it on someone.  Wild times.

I remember going to Victoria's .....  (she who is now Stephanie)... and getting there a little ahead of schedule... what I remember most was eyeing all the ladies running around in nighties... made me think I was in the playboy mansion.... then after the session, Stephanie came in the room... and tatilized me with her ta-ta's!  bwahahahaha!   good times.

I miss Philly Manision that what got me started some 4 years ago.A dockside bust ended all that.Still in seach of another.

I recall frequenting a place called Chic II on Vine St during my freshman year of college. Man, I thought that place was so cool. Great looking ladies & they actually gave you a menu (of services). They even had a jacuzzi in a mirrored room. Remember leaving my Rolex there accidentally after a mind blowing session, & they actually returned it to me without any hassle when I returned the next day.
Ahhh...when it was all so new!

Was this the place that eventually got busted because too many boys from Roman would go at their lunch break?  I seem to recall reading a Sunday Inq. article on it.

If you look today at the northeast corner of 13th and Vine, there is an empty lot where the corner row house was demolished some years ago. That was the building that housed Chic II, which was a classy operation in its prime. The building was demolished after the city cracked down on the place. Its predecessor, Chic I, was originally located on 11th St., near the Chinatown arch, and the local people forced them to move for the good of the neighborhood.

I enjoy this discussion that brings back memories of the old time places.  Steam was very good. You could go in and sit down surrounded by a bevy of slutty types and chat with them while you made your choice. They used to put descriptions of each girl in their long ad in the City Paper.

Anyone remember Executive Retreat, Bella Femina, CMT, Venus II, to mention a few more?

I think I remember Executive Retreat. It was on Locust St. You had to ride a scary little elevator & then wait in a little lounge until they buzzed you in. Lotta nice talent.
I seem to recall Bella Femina too. On Sansom St. (3 blocks from my apt!). Clean & classy. I recall the manager showing me a portfolio of their talent.
Fun times when it all seemed so new...

I was always too chicken to ever respond to a paper ad, but this is what I know: I've heard that there are anti-trafficking groups that are pressuring publications to remove ads for sexual services. This has happened in New York, lately.

of school days in south dakota. we'ed run to deadwood, some of the bars had cathouses upstairs, get shitfaced and go up and meet the girls.  Ring the buzzer on this fort like massive door, the madame would check you out thru the peephole and let you in. You'ed set in the parlor and wait for the girls to come in. After picking out one of the scantaly clad cutties, pickins were better during hunting season by the way, she would lead you to your  room. Guess how long ago this was, a s..k and a f..k for 20 bills. No shortage of college girls but this was a hoot at the time! All this took 15-30 min. and then back to the bars to get more shitfaced. Ahhhhh, school days. Anybody else have similar?

Well you can still see many of the Morgan Mansion girls. Morgan, Stephanie, Julianna and Mikella all have ads on EROS. What I miss most is Fairytales. That was a great place also.
Janessa, who use to go by the name Angelique is back after about being out of the area for 4 years so I am reliving some good times there. For me it was all the ads in the back of Philly magazine that got me going.

I too miss The Mansion.  Ah, yester-year
