Depends on where you want to stay -- from personal experience, I like the Latham downtown (Rittenhouse Square area), the Comfort Inn near Penn's Landing is decent too, and the Microtel by the airport was nice (small suite). But my motivations for picking a hotel (mainly, price) are different than yours. Hotwire (www.hotwire.com) has good deals -- I got a room in the historic area for $80 a night. Hopefully some of the local ladies can help with better, more specific suggestions...
