Seems staying by the convention center is great for all parties!

Old Town

There are a few good places on 2nd St, Front St, and I-95. You'd be able to walk into town to see the sights and it's way easier for people from the suburbs to drive in and find parking there than in Center City.

But then, it's all about preference and your personal style. :)
