Friends, we just got back from the doctor's office. I'll keep it straight to the point: the cancerous area just above the left collarbone is gone completely. The cancerous areas in the mediastinum (the area between the lungs) and just below the left lung are virtually eliminated; only minimal residual seen, as per the report. The nodule in the right lung apex has reduced markedly in size - on the 4/1 report it measured 1.5cm, and it is now less than 1cm. In the words of the oncologist, "I am cautiously optimistic, and frankly I am amazed." This is your power flowing through me helping me fight this battle and win, and God's hand being placed upon me. There is still a ways to go, like tomorrow's chemo session and at least 3 more after that. But we are winning. Thank you all.

The irony is that the first person I would have wanted at this party when the ordeal began turned out to be the first person to turn their back on me when she was told of it. Should I go so far as to post the URL for her ad? No, I think I'll pass on that one...

And it just keeps getting better. My high school baseball team just won the South Jersey Group 2 title. It's 35 years in the making; we've had some good to great teams over the years (nearly a .700 winning percentage over the years), but never broke through in the playoffs until this year. What a day!!!
