So - to sometimes ease the pain of checking schedules of fave providers one subscribes to the online newsletter of a local provider (provider publishes sched via newsletter). Another poor soul attempts to use provider website to schedule a booking. Something gets f'd up and when provider responds to poor soul the response gets blown out to the entire subscriber list - either the provider was really careless or her website just made major f up cuz in the email was:
Poor souls entire online request form - yes - showing his name, phone number, IP address, etc.
&
The email address of every subscriber to the provider newsletter - apparently some never got the memo to use a more discrete email for hobbying.
Folks - this one sucks/stinks. Hobby is always loaded with risk - just never expected it to rear head this way.
I would caution ALL providers to test run their automated forms and replies... so as to keep confidential ALL information provided to you... as I would have no problem whatsoever in disclosing the party guilty (innocent or not) of a leak of my identity. That goes without saying.
It may have been the website and not the girl - have met her previously and she never struck me as careless or one to do this intentionally. To expand upon earlier - the challenge is information about you is needed to make the call as to whether to see you or not. Unless you are using a third party to verify then more judgment should be used in your 'online ID' - unless you really don't give a shit. At the end of the day the more responsible providers need to know who you are - ultimate catch 22.
are deliberately careless, or more to the point - who would willfully reveal an identity... and I do know of those cases... but in this instance - the lady (and she is a lady) is more the victim of a bad glitch on the technology side...
which is why the "hobbying online Id" needs to be somewhat sequestered from other online IDs... and I am very cool with the lady! It is not a problem to me!!!!
but newbies should be aware - and should sequester this part of their lives... us oldtimers well, we always have.
