You're absolutely correct.  Many guys view this board and the review process as a way to prevent a bad encounter.  Perhaps you weren't around when other bad providers were discussed, or the need to check reviews before you go make an appointment.  There have also been some lively discussions on higher rates and the theory that you get what you pay for (a theory not proven at all, IMHO).  The chances of having a bad encounter versus a good encounter are much higher if you do NO research in advance.  My practice is no review, no go, unless it is an "under the radar" girl recommended by my friends.  And even then the chemistry may not be 100% perfect.  But if there are multiple bad reviews, I think you could reasonably predict that you will have a bad time. Bottom line - always check it out first.  If there are no reviews, ask on the boards - someone else may have some knowledge.
