I was planning a trip there. I responded to two BP ads and heard back from both. One was a canned reply asking me to call her phone. The other was a specific response to what I'd asked. She quoted me lower rates than I expected for a full-day visit and invited me to suggest a price. I've seen low overnight rates in Tijuana and reviews from Cancun that mention the girl choosing to stay over after a good session (without charging for it). Is this normal in Costa Rica?

I haven't been there yet so I can't clue you in from personal experience, but hearing from guys like GaGambler, you don't use any boards or ad sites down there. The best method is picking them up in bars. GaGambler can give you the insights as to which bars, what time of day, what the going rate should be when you negotiate. (and negotiating is expected, unlike here in the US). You don't want to get taken as a naive gringo like the dumb secret service guys.

ALL you need to do (in San Jose) is stop by The Del Rey or The Sportmens Lodge and you will find everything you could possibly want or need.
