Do you think a host and hostess would put more life into this board? What kind of threads would make this board more interesting? Do you think keeping this board vibrant is possible as we are not really a "local" board, more of a collection of TER hobby wastelands with little else in common? What would you want a host and hostess to do for this board?

I have some small hope that if someone puts up some interesting posts that life can be put into this board. I would like to try to be a host at some time TER allowing. (I think TER may have some reservations though about me being a host, considering how strongly I feel against some of the changes.) I think the host and hostess Idea can not hurt some of the more dead boards like this one. What say you?

Ha, I've seen a couple of lively conversations here once or twice.  It's worth a try.  Can't hurt anything.
I personally love the changes and feel like they've been a long time coming and sorely needed.  The atmosphere was just way too hostile on most boards.  TER is a much better place to visit now.  

I don't know if it would help make the board more active, but I guess it can't hurt it, and If you are willing to take on the host responsibilities, then why not? Hopefully TER would let you, despite your feelings about the changes. You know that I don't like a lot of the changes either, but I am waiting it out to see what happens rather than baling out. If this board was more active, I would be here more. As of now, I pop on every now and then to see if there is anything interesting, or antything Hawaii related I might be able to answer. But it is mostly a dead board. There are worse though. Have you ever checked out Portland, or Kansas? There are probably some boards where a host/hostess might help. Funny thing is on the two boards that have hostesses so far, apparently all TER did is turned some names red, and didn't tell them what their responsibilities are yet. From the earliest posts with their names in red, seems like the hostesses didn't even know they were hostesses yet. Also the Florida board just seems to be degenerating.

Some of the Cities involved in Other Cities are large enough to have their own board locations, I sure wish they would split it up to segregate even further.

I would love to have a hostess that could find good topics to talk about in each city,,,let people brag a little about where they come from,, maybe a City Day, a poll on where there should be more boards for the other cities and start pulling them out one by one when it looks like there is more activity in one than the other..

Maybe some other cities could host their own board but I'm not sure about that. Besides this board being so dead, thee are so many places that have their own boards that are also dead. I once put 1 post on the Portland board and I was the top poster for the month. Anyway check out Portland, Seattle, Kansas, New Mexico. All those boards (and a few others) and this one need life support

I hope the host and hostess idea is given a try here. It can't hurt.
