WHAT IS TANTRA???

Tantra is not easily summed up in a few brief sentences but, I would like to give an over view. It is a religion based on toning and balancing the 7 areas of energy or Chakras.  Tantikas are trained to address ALL issues that can arise from any of the 7 Charkas and this does include the 2nd Chakra.

Tantra is an ancient religion that honors energy that is created by arousal and stimulation.  This can be the most powerful energy that can be experienced between partners. Umm...with all due respect, tantra is not a religion.  Calling tantra a religion based on toning chakras is like saying Confession is a religion based on contrition.  Christianity is a religion, Catholicism is one branch of it, and Confession is a practice.  Similarly, Buddhism is a religion or philosphy, Vajrayana Buddhists are one sect of it, and tantra is one of their practices.  Tantra has evolved from the 6 inner yogas of the Vajrayana Buddhists.

I'd also like to point out that in Buddhism, different branches identified different numbers of chakras - anywhere from 4 to 11.  The seven we know comes from auyurvedic medicine.  And the correlation between tantra and India is as much geographic as it is spiritual.

I was simply trying to give an overview of Tantra and NOT an in-depth debate. TRUE religion or not, IT IS a  religious, spiritual, philosophical and magical movement and I am very proud to be a part of the practice.

Thank Goddess I follow my path as a sacred sexual pioneer, I utilize many mystical, shaman and spiritual modalities to heal and evoke intense sexual energy.
My heart felt sympathy to those that were hurt by Osho's  followers.
I practice many of the tantrik rituals that again lead to a deeper connection with the seeker.
