First all, I'm NOT angry, just puzzled --but nonetheless, I feel this bears repeating.
I called to set something up with a fairly well-reviewed young provider out here.
When she had asked me about references, I told her I was White-listed on here --abruptly interrupting me, she said, "No, I mean references" --to which I again, responded with the White-list thing, only to have her interrupt me yet again --only this time with agitation.
When I backed off (didn't think I needed to), she said she was unable to access White-lists since she didn't have a VIP membership.
(Um, why didn't you say that instead of, "no, I mean references"?)
**I** apologized for the misunderstanding.
I then began naming some of my providers, none of which she knew.
After some other questions, she said, "It's 4:00 right now, when would you like to come by?"
Since I live relatively close, and since it SEEMED as if I could basically just pick a time, I said "How about 5?".
It was a date ...or so I thought.
Between the time we got off the phone (4:00) my leaving my home, I got a very important phone call which I had to take while in front of my computer.
When I saw I was obviously running late --and remember that it SEEMED as if she had been open time-wise, I called her at 4:35 to see if we could make it for 5:30 instead.
When I called, she didn't pick up, and I don't leave messages unless I know someone.
She called me back at 4:40, and I apologized profusely and told her the situation, requesting the later time.
She lost it.
"If you didn't think you were going to make it at 5:00, why did you make it for 5:00?!!!!!!!!!!"
More apologizing from me --clearly this was my misunderstanding.
ME: "I'm so sorry, can we just make it for later on this evening if 5:30 won't work?"
HER: (BEYOND pissed off) "Why don't you just call me later tonight when you're on your way?!!!"
Then interrupting herself with her anger, "you know what? Just call me some other time!!!!"
Click.
She calls back like 2 seconds later (maybe she's calling to apologize for flying off the handle? --no such luck)
"Can you come at 5:30 for a half-hour instead of an hour?"
Sorry guys, but I just don't do the half-hour thing like many of you --"No, I'm really sorry, I definitely want an hour --I actually NEED to have an hour".
HER: "YOU NEED AN HOUR??!!!!!! You won't take a half hour?!!"
"Well, no, sorry, but if...."
Click.
I'm sorry, did I miss something here?
According to her reviews, I was under the impression this particular provider was very easy-going.
I had no idea this was only about nothing else but head counts (no pun intended) --you know, move 'em in, move'em out!!
