Role-play involves a temporary assumption of characters which ends eventually and you go back to your original self. Fantasy could involve role-play, but can also just be something you'd like to have happen to you, which could actually happen, or not.
I don't have a role-play that does much for me. I like real. Not boring, but real. I'm cool with it, if it works for her, but it doesn't do anything directly for me. Only indirectly, if she gets really into it.
