Called last night and set up a time with her, called to check rate and if she had any reviews, then another call like 15 minutes later to confirm a time for about 45 minutes from then. I usually do but the scenery around here rarely changes and I have usually always been less than impressed with it, just check out the other ad sites, almost always Cleveland or Columbus, little in Cincy or Dayton, at least my type, even if you see a couple you like, the selection is still limited at best.

As basically a newbie in the hobby, what is a more reliable source than BP?

Eros is the main site I have always frequented, but depending on the city you are in the selection can be limited and can be very much the same from month to month. Not to say fake ads are not on there either though as there are.

However many reputable providers on there, again it depends on region, I would say that if you were in Florida, NY,LA, LV, LA, Chicago, you would be downright stupid to go anywhere else, check those cities out sometime, page after page of total 10 hotties. It just isn't the case here so other options are sometimes explored I guess in an effort to find the odd fun time.

95% of ads on there are either one, posted by obvious scammers, bait and switchers, that are trying to lure people in for a scam or robbery. These ads always have obviously too good to be true pics that are pretty easily recognized as modeling pictures by women who are and never have been escorts. The other extreme are the very rough looking women, many of which are indistinguishable I assume from street walkers, who are indeed as pictured I assume, but why would you want to meet them anyway, I mean I guess some guys don't care but most do, right, lol, at least I do.

The thing about backpage is you must recognize the two extremes for what they are and keep a sharp eye for the few ads, the 5% I would say, that are not one or the other from first glance. True that most of the rip off reviews on here come from BP ads - but so do most of the positive reviews. Almost every review has a link to a BP ad.

Providers tell me that they advertise on BP because it gets the quickest response. Reputable providers have to sift through lots of riff-raff too in their responses - but they do get business.

Advantages of BP for a newbie are that the rates are lower (not always - but generally), the screening is lighter (not always - but generally), and the hobbyist can see who is working right now and (generally) not have to wait hours (or days) for a date.

But - if you're gonna use BP - get a VIP membership in TER - and USE IT before making any calls.

BP + no reviews is a recipe for disaster.

I gave her ("east indian"/pryia) a 3... but... BUT... I'm going to go on to defend Johnwilde... here's why:

Objectivity goes out the window in the bedroom.  Ratings are highly subjective, and personal taste... that's doubly so.  I for one, REALLY enjoy a good handjob, and go so far as to fantasize about them, watch hj porn etc.  I think it's entirely possible to have a one in a lifetime experience (10) from a handjob.  This has nothing to do with low standards on my part.  I have trouble (as in impossible) finishing in a cover.  Furthermore, I'm a bit of a germ-a-phoebe (making BBBJ's difficult for me to get into)... all this makes hj providers an excellent choice for me.  In fact, I don't believe the 1-10 scale should have anything to do with how wide the menu is... but rather how enjoyable the service was.  I mean, given my germ hangup, a one in a lifetime experience would ruined for me if she insisted I stick it her ass.  I gauge "enjoyable" on the following: how hot she is (I know that's got it's own rating, but it still directly impacts her performance score), how responsive/into it she is, chemistry, and most importantly how skilled she is.

1) A reasonably intelligent person can simultaneously hold multiple, even contradictory, views of something. My point is that I don't believe you are unable to separate and extract a reasonably objective evaluation of a sexual performance of a girl.

I enjoy watching shitty movies. I make fun of them. I have a great time with my friends mocking stupid trash like Fast and the Furious or Saw. I enjoy them, because I find it amusing to watch idiots fail at making movies (yeah, I understand both are multi-million dollar franchises), but as an objective "performance", they are shit.  

Yet, no matter how much fun I might have watching trashy movies, I still wound't give them a 10. I know that the average person isn't going to enjoy them as much as I happened to, and I know that the films don't deserve (in a cosmic sense) a high rating. I know that my enjoyment comes in large part from who I am, and that the average person won't be experiencing the same thing as I did.

So, no. I don't think you should give a girl a 10, just because you happen to like HJs. And I don't think you should use the "subjectivity/YMMV" excuse to do so. The reviews aren't to catalog your dates for you, they are for other people - and you know you like a very specific "kink".

2) Additionally, your ratings should be consistent. If you were just really horny that day, she doesn't deserve +2 points. You shouldn't complain about everything in the review, and still give her a positive score. You can't use the little descriptors next to the number, without using your brain.

I've forgotten it was a service a number of times. And yet, those providers didn't get 9's (forgot it was a service). They didn't deserve 9's. The session only went the way it did because of who I am and how well I clicked with her, and you or some other guy might not have that great of a session.

You can read what happened on their date. You can look at their rating history to see if they generally see girls you also find interesting - or to see if they generally give high scores or low scores - or to see if they're new at this or have been around awhile (and then consider also that a lot of low scores may be because they are seeing cheaper girls - and a lot of high scores may be because they are only seeing top-notch talent).

Use the site for all the help it can give.
