I was fairly active on the boards a few years ago as I was just starting in "the hobby". I just recently decided to get back in and I noticed something very different. Back then and actually fairly recently (6 months ago or so from a search I did) this ohio board was pretty active and entertaining. What happened? Any chance of a concerted effort by the guys and gals to get this place entertaining and informative again? Thanks in advance for your replies.

not sure exactly happened.  That's my 2.5 cents.

The hobby scene is weird in OH.  I would say 80-90% of OH based Providers are damn near at the rip off level.  Must be something in the water.  I can name on 1 hand the # of legit Buckeye based Providers:  Chase Cameron, Tobi Telford, MLG, Kate Hawn, maybe a couple of more.  So I think that has something do with the lack of activity on this board.

I have talked to touring ladies who seem to do quite well in the state.  More touring ladies need to post on the OH discussion board and not just place ads.

Second, my observation on most people is that they live life in a passive manner.  They are afraid to be the starter in anything.  But they will participate once the activity starts.  It's a shame because you miss out on new experiences when you are not an active participant in life.

I definitely agree with you on the lack of quality providers. That's the reason I gave up back in 2011. I met a few ladies on vacations and a couple touring ladies, unfortunately the touring girls were from agencies and the experiences were average at best, I just gave up. Now I will say there are a lot more beautiful well reviewed ladies now than there was then. Once I found the incomparable Ms.Telford I jumped back in the game and damn I'm glad I did! Now I'm also hoping this board will get hopping again.

You also have a point about people not wanting to lead. I imagine that has to do with the aggression I have seen from some posters. I guess I will try to come up with a few entertaining topics to try and draw some participation and hope others do the same. Thanks for your insight on the subject. Much appreciated RT.

As far as useful information, there is next to nothing of value here. Not compared to what is actually out there. As far as entertainment... well it depends. It takes all kinds, I guess. I mean, if you find Weird Al, or memes that were tired in 2010 funny... stick around.

When I started looking at this board about a year ago, it was the same thing. Different people, mostly, but similar amount of actual activity.  

In fact, it seemed like even fewer people, and mostly was one guy proposing marriage to a provider and then getting all sad, and then she'd flirt with him, and he'd propose again. Don't know what happened to him. But it was like, him and 2 providers and a few other guys. That was like watching a loop of Wile E Coyote blowing himself up, funny at first...  

Consider what you get by being active here? Nothing really. The information is rarely timely or as detailed as you can get elsewhere sooner. Also, what is there to discuss? I suspect the only reason there are any active users here is that there are people who like the "small pond" feel.

You can easily use TER, and not even visit the discussion boards. At least I did before about a year ago. The reviews and search functions of this site are the things that actually make it worth coming to, and you don't need to access the discussion boards to access those.

Finally, the board interface is terrible and makes it seem like a bunch of little individual conversations. Any thread which goes too deep in post count becomes messy, etc...

I will say that there is a very active community in another place online, and it has the critical mass of people to have actual information. Necessarily, it does center around the mid-level of the market, and there is a lot of activity at the bottom of the market. Not much at the top, because the upper levels don't need to relay information via message boards to survive (that's a whole different topic). The active message boards on TER in Ohio are centered around a very limited strata of the hobby. The dullest strata. The safest strata.

The environment around here got really hostile due to a few rogue jackasses so most of us just quit posting.

Alias are a bullshit feature. It's bad enough that boards are necessarily anonymous, and that drives some people to act in ways they wouldn't otherwise act, but adding a feature that only a coward would use... I just don't see the point

Well  IMHO let me start by saying this:

All the newbies think they can post once then start asking "Who's is the best" questions, which the older gentlemen are extremely tired of answering.

The newbies dont do homework before asking questions. Like the world around them they believe they can snap their fingers and get the answers they desire in 30 seconds.

No one has patients anymore. No one wants to put time and effort into anything. And the newbie generation dont have time to post.

Of course this is just my opinion and my $.02, but everyone has one.

Is accountability ..... anyone can be on here, post whatever they want without fear (unless it is real bad) of retribution.  Many of the reviews aren't real so guys can maintain their free membership, then half the things they say if the review is real didn't happen as they get to boost their ego's ...... I think I screwed up recently answering a PM about a provider when I didn't really know who the guy on the other end was (nothing bad ladies .... just shouldn't even have talked at all)  ..... and I had no way to research this guy.  If you are looking for info on BP gals and the occasional review of the upper end hot provider then TER is ok ..... hard to be overly serious about anything on here ..... except with the ladies I already have relationships with or hope to in the future ..... and I love all of you

If you look at the Cleveland reviews they are mostly bp rip offs and low quality massages. A few years ago it wasn't that way. Maybe more inexperienced desperate providers?  Not a lot of good intel. The top touring ladies seem to do well here

The main issue seems to be what I suspected, a few posters throwing out insults and unwarranted hostility. My interest in this board is informative and/or interesting discussions and general entertainment. If I'm lucky maybe one of these lovely ladies I didn't consider will pique my interest enough to see them . Some people find hurling insults and starting shit is their only means of entertainment,  just look at the GD board as proof of that. That can only keep happening if tolerated though. There is a report this post tab at the bottom of every post and should be used when necessary. I haven't tried it recently but it worked in the past. Ohio is your area, this is your board and a few assholes shouldn't be able to silence the many that are here for the right reasons.  

Now the amount of useful information may be scarce as thegoodsh pointed out, but that improves with more people willing to participate. More participation will only happen if people don't feel like that are going to be attacked when they post. Heated debate is one thing, outright insults and attacks are another and can't be tolerated if you want an active all inclusive board. The more welcoming it is the more benefits it will produce. Now this is obviously just my opinion, dismiss it if you choose, but it seems like it's time to take back y(our) board. Thanks for reading.

The comment on this being a small pond board seem about right. Most of the the post are from a small group of people just look the op has 140 some reads and about a dozen comments.  For a while a lot of the post  were really mean spirited on the verge of character assassination that's gonna turn some people off. Then it comes down to the same group of folks having the same conversation over and over again.

I read the Ohio board regularly but as pointed out earlier, didn't participate much due to some of the nastiness going on. Because I used travel every week for business, I followed quite a few of the other boards and it's interesting that they each have their own personalities.  

Completely agree that based on the reviews, CLE hobbiests seem gravitate to either cheap, BP girls or the travelers. Then again, you can count on one hand the number of quality local providers in this area, which until recently has proven frustrating to me (just found a local UTR provider who is now my ATF).  

I have enjoyed the postings of some of you participating in this thread; both hobbiest and provider (Tobi's one of my favs to read but sadly, am just past her age limitation). Given the thoughtfulness of this thread, I'm quite willing to jump in and try and make the Ohio board a bit more interesting.

I am often dismayed that some don't see the potential here and, instead, use this forum for little more than strutting their stuff like ridiculous, preening peacocks, insulting others, and generally ruining things for everyone.

We are a relatively small community of people sharing an interest in p4p sex, and, imho we could all get a lot more out of this if everyone was a little more supportive of one another.

The hobby has significant risks and perils. By sharing bad experiences, we can educate others to risks that perhaps had not been anticipated, identify the bad apples, limit their ability to harm, and promote smart and safe practices.

If providers have a personality, they can use this board to show it to prospective customers. It can be an outstanding marketing tool (wouldn't you agree Tobi and Ally?).

Unfortunately, there are a lot of fragile folks involved in this hobby - both providers and customers. Because of the stigma, many have no one they can talk things over with. This might well be the only place some can turn for understanding, support, and acceptance.

I too have little patience with newbies who come on here with posts like "who gives the best blow jobs". Sometimes I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try to explain why they don't get much response. Usually, I just ignore them. On the other hand, I really don't mind newbies asking questions that have been asked and answered dozens of times. The questions are new to them, and another benefit of this board is the help that we can offer to those just getting their feet wet.

And finally, wouldn't it be nice if everyone could just relax and have a little fun with one another on here?

I agree. I just stopped posting when all the hateful things were being said, didn't respond, and simply just watched. I have learned not to respond and give the haters what they want. I have never had a bad review, and I am a damn good provider. I would post pics when we were allowed to and so many said OMG you are so fat and this and that. I do have thick skin and not easily offended, but that only goes so far. There is so much jealousy and bitterness towards certain providers, it's unreal. I have a few I call my friends, and that's it. I pretty much just keep to myself unless something interests me, but I would like to see this board improve.

I can assure you that THEY win with your absence. You are a very amiable sort and are greatly needed to balance the contemptful(hey, that's probably me)discourse.

Well this topic certainly prompted some response. Proved my point that most of what I read is just anger. I have had really good luck just contacting reviewers by PM. I either get a positive result or nothing.
