All kidding aside, almost all LE busts involve them contacting the providers, responding to their ads in a hope they can lure the providers. The girls are the ones much more at risk, not to say we have nothing to be worried about, but whenever these busts happen almost always the only guys who are arrested are those who accompanied the women to the bust site, I would suspect their boyfriends,pimps,whatever.
This does anwser my question as to what and who might be behind some of those numerous fake pic ads on there. If indeed they were running fake ads on there, its actually kinda cool they got arrested.
With that said the whole report is the typical "the end of the world is caused by hobbyists" BS. To be sure the hobby is not without risk, but good common sense and staying with well reviewed providers will almost always keep you out of trouble.
I've only met well reviewd ladies but think I ought to actually contribute to the community by trying someone new. I was looking at these two ads and can only think they must be scams. Anybody that hot in Columbus would be well reviewed right?

the second ad has been pulled, so I would not even bother with her. For the first ad, have you googled the phone number? have you searched the pics with tineye or google search? Does she have any reviews anywhere?????
Just because the pics are hot does not guarantee she has reviews or is legit. There are countless ads out there all across the country with stolen pics. My guess is, you suspicions are probably right, esp the second one, since her ad is no longer active.

My first thought on the first ad is that if she is a legit provider, any rate quote under $300 would be a red flag that she will not look like the pics and/or the session will have alot in common with a museum visit, a whole lot-a looking where you will be thrown out if you touch...lol...Even if the rate quote is high, I still would stear clear, too many scams on backpage.

I respectfully disagree with this claim about backpage. My experience has been if you see a airbrushed, model-esk, perfect looking picture of a girl on backpage and they are only asking $100 - then it is most likely a scam. However, there can be some amateur gems on BP - not all of us like 30-year-old "been in the business too long" professionals. In my experience, if you find a girl that has taken her own pictures and offers a half hour the $100 range then consider it, but proceed with caution. The only REAL way to protect yourself is to go by the reviews offered on TER.

I suppose you could be right, maybe the odd "gem" could be found on there. But I would think you would have a number of subpar experiances too all around. I would think that the cheaper rate would be offset by the amount of duds one would encounter, you would end up spending the same amount to get a decent experiance, maybe, through trial and error on backpage than you would from a higher dollar girl that has verified pics.
For me there is just something about seeing a girl for such a low rate, maybe it is the probable lack of self esteem at work there, or desperation, that turns me off. I want to see a girl that is in the business more because she wants to than has to, y'know. Also the girls that have lower rates are usaually going to have a higher volume of hobbyists seeing them. I have noticed that a couple of providers that are currently providers in Cincy who have a low rate have a ton of reviews and they have been in the business for a pretty short time. Aside from the fact that these providers don't strike me as all that attractive, it is a negative in my book that she is having to see so many hobbyists because of the lower rate.
I am personally not one that would be interested in a half hour meeting, seeing as I prefer to have 10 to 15 minutes of "get to know you a little" conversation with a provider and that wouldn't work out very well with a 30 minute meeting
Your mentioning, "proceed with caution", is something that would just make the whole experiance one I would not enjoy. You have to remember, a bait and switch with pics or a girl on there that is a no touch propostition or an upsell is not the worst that could happen. The chance you could get jumped and robbed also is a possibility, most of those reviews I have read detailing that happenstance have been from guys who responded to a backpage ad. I want things to go without any nasty surprises and I think one can partake in this hobby, as long as he thinks with the right head, without having to risk getting beat up or robbed.
I think some guys who see girls off backpage kind of like the adrenalin rush from the uncertainty of things, that I can understand I suppose, its just not my cup of tea.
Why not look for ladies who have at least one review on here? She is probably needing more reviews (we need at least 3 to be considered to join the provider board) and it would help you to contribute.
One review and you at least know she's legit but not reviewed enough for everyone to get a clear picture of what to expect when they book a session with her.

Unfortunately, this IS the kind of thing that's kept me from giving the hobby a first go...

I can't believe it! That day was the first time I ever went to a provider. And it was in Cinti. It was a private residence and there were two, accurate reviews of this provider on TER. It was not cheap at all, though. Man, if I'd known that I would have turned around and headed backup 75 in a hurry. It went without a hitch though. Was so nervous the whole time I guess 'cause it was the first. Did not get robbed or made to feel unsafe. Reviewed that person, their clients responses and communicated by throw away phone and many anonymous gmails. I am glad there is this board.
