1) this is naturally and necessarily a discrete community...so...it's hard to generate ongoing and meaningful interest when conversations only penetrate so deep
2) trolls and other morons
3) your point of limited content

If a group of us were meeting for beers regularly and assuming things like discretion and privacy could be overcome....I think you'd see that all the people here are pretty interesting and more satisfying dialog would ensue in that face to face interaction.

we can now start slowing down, take some time to catch our breathe from the hussle of vacations & kids being out of school wanting our every moment of attention & taxiing them around to outdoor adventures lasting till late into the dark warm night, when we can sneak off to enjoy a cold one with some friends sitting outside by a campfire.....the cool weather is starting to settle in, the pool's are closing, & instead of sneaking some quiet time out under the moon we will be turning the heat on & settleling behind our computer screens perusing the internet for some entertainment until the warm days come again....
