newbie. learning the ter way of doing things..any thoughts,

You are not allowed to include a link to your web site when you start a thread, you can only include a link when replying to a post. This might be a helpful link for you.

Yes really clarence. It is a violation of TER rules to include, the now removed link, to a provider website because it turns the post into an ad.

Or you could have simply reported the post, and admin would have removed the link (which they did).

They used to just delete the entire thread when an OP puts a link of their website on a new post ... And would only say it violates the rules ... I had a few deleted before someone told me so this was a kind informative way to let her know ... This way the link is removed and not the entire thread

He could have told her in a nicer way. Also, admin is nicer on the newbie board too. They will usually just remove the link and leave the post. On the GD or regional boards, they may remove the whole post if a provider links her website in the OP.

She was here asking for advice. DJ, you, and Clarence all replied on her thread, yet no one answered her question or offerred advice. Comments were all about her link which is not even on her post any more.

 What is this, the GD

I offered helpful advice on when she could add a link to her posts as well as a link on posting so she doesn't have her threads deleated. Much more helpful than saying something that could be deleted because she does not know the rule about links in an OP. The first thing anyone needs to know in order to get advice, is how to start a thread that wont eventually get deleted.

Read back on this board a bunch of pages. Come back and ask newbie questions here if you have some. Post on your regional board to get known. Post ads on the regional ad boards. There are specific rules which you can find in the self help center.
Welcome to TER and good luck.

Not sure where you are located but one of the best things you can do is to go to the regional board closest to your area and post regularly. Just comment and ask questions that are not related to newbie questions such as how do you guys feel about (interesting topic). The guys in your area will get a sense of your personality. Also you can post an ad once a week in your regional ad forum .... make sure you include your website if you have one and a picture of yourself. If you don't have a website go to escortfiles.com and those are free and pretty decent.  If you don't have a website post a link to another ad you have. To upload pics use imagecoast.com or Postimage.com ... Good luck and welcome

hanks again. i'm trying to post in the regional area. not sure if my ad has been posted? or how long it takes to post. I'm in North Carolina. Can i post my website & picture to a reply in this forum area

you can link your website in this post or any replies to other posts but no not your picture sorry

I placed links to other info in there that will be helpful.

About this question: You may place a link to your ad or web site when you reply to someone else's post but you may not post a link when you begin a thread. I think the others covered that. You may not place your picture in any posts except on the Photo only board and/or your ad on the TER regional ad board.
