I am new to the site and find it not user friendly. Do I need to create an alias? I tried entering and received a message with symbols. I clicked on "my alias".  

I posted an ad and did not see an option to upload a pic, I am a VIP member and should be able to do this, correct? Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

1. You don't need an alias. You can have one if you want one but only if you are a paid VIP member which you are. Here is what TER says about using an alias:  

USE OF ALIASES

One username/alias/handle per person per thread. If this policy is violated you will lose posting privileges for 30 days.

Posting rude and mean comments while hiding under an ALIAS will be reported to the site Admin for evaluation. If sufficient cause is found the post will be modified by Admin to EXPOSE your USERNAME.  Flipping an alias is an action of last resort and will only be done if Admin determines that other corrective actions are insufficient due to the nature of the comments in the post.

Aliases may only be changed once in a 3 month period. Choose your alias carefully and use it correctly.

It's been so long since I created my alias I'm don't really remember how I did it and some things have changed since then so what I did then may not be the procedure now.

Quick answer Your photos must be on an image hosting site. Can't be done from your phone or computer. The URL for the photo you want to post goes in the "picture URL" box at the bottom of the page when you are writing your ad or post. Remove the http:// which is already there before you place the UR

You can do everything using your "handle" or "username" which is ExquisiteSiena. When you post to the boards, just leave the "name" dropdown alone.  If, for some reason (making a controversial post, etc.) you want to use a separate secret name (e.g., NotExquiSie), you can create an alias and then use the "name" dropdown to select NotExquiSie and post using that alias.

"How to post a pic?" is an FAQ. Briefly:
- Your picture has to be on picture hosting site such as imagecoast. Create a free account, upload some pics. The pic to be posted cannot just be a file on your phone or computer.  
- TER does not host pics. You post a LINK to your pic and TER acts as the middle man when someone opens your post.  
- Copy the URL of your pic. It will be something like http://www.hostingsite.com/myaccount/mypics/pic1.jpg
- At the bottom of every posting page are three boxes for "link URL", "link title" and "picture URL".
Paste your picture URL in the "picture URL" box.
- Hit the "post message" button

The URL must point to an acceptable picture file (usually ending in .jpg, .jpeg, .gif or .png) or TER software will detect an error and the message will not post.

Fancy was wrong to suggest you already have an alias if you have VIP.  In fact, while you do need VIP to use an alias, you must pick one yourself.  If you click on "My TER" and find the list on the left of that page called "My Quick Links" you can then click on "My Alias."  Once you get there, there's a box you can use to fill in your alias.
Again, Fancy, please stop giving advice on this board about subjects of which you are ignorant.  Which seems to be just about everything.
When using an alias please be sure you're aware whether your post is about to go up using the alias or using your handle.  When you're writing a post you'll find "name" as the top box.  If the last post you wrote was with your handle, that will automatically appear.  If you want to use your alias you must change it.  Just be sure not to use your alias and your handle on the same thread, as that breaks the rules.  It will also "out" your alias and you can only change it every three months.
