END OF MESSAGE

If I decide to get a hotel just for outcall exp, is it better to check out immediately after the encounter , or use the "express" check out option and leave the keys in the room and quitely slink out to avoid any raised eyebrows at check out desk? I have done the latter a few times with no problems, but always go home with an uneasy feeling that some charges might get posted on my cc.

Any suggestions?

I'm calling BS on the post...when you check into a hotel you either give your CC to cover incidentals or leave a cash deposit.  When you check out you either get back the balance of your cash deposit or the room charge goes on your card.

So, in the real world, you always have to go back to the frontdesk if you don't want a charge to appear on your card.

By the way...no desk clerk in the world gives a rat's ass if you are in the room for 10 minutes or 10 hours.  If you think you are getting a wierd look just smirk and say "my girlfriend loves quickies in the middle of the day"

I never go back and check out after a short session (and rarely after an overnight, for that matter.)

I use a credit card and the charge appears with no problems if you don't check out at the desk.  I would never recommend using cash, that's never a good move.

There's no reason to call attention to yourself as "That guy that's always in here for two hours and then checking out."

What if the clerk's brother is the local vice cop?

You can never tell.

Always use maximum discretion and in this case that means no checking out at the desk a few hours after you check in.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will continue to use the express check out option then....

Fisher,

I get it but the OP said he didn't want charges on his CC...so that is what I based my comments on.  I agree with you, if you don't mind putting charges on the CC it is definitely the way to go.

Sorry if I misunderstood the point of the OP.

I guess I should have explained myself a little better. The reason usually credit card does not get charged for me is when I book a hotel for hobbying, I do it through 3rd party sites with a prepaid CC, so that the charge does not show up on my usual CC. As long as I take care not to use any of the room services including cash bar, my actual CC which I do need to show along with my ID when checking in does not get charged.

I have used this method ( using express check out and not going to front desk at all once I check in) sucessfully in the past with no charges showing up on my real cc. I was just wondering what others did in this situation ......

Malik,

My apologies then...I thought you didn't want even the room charge to appear on a cc....now I get it.  In that case, I use express check out whenever I travel (hobbying or not) and have never found "out of the ordinary" charges after the fact.  Simple enough, arrange the hotel through the 3rd party site, check in, express check out when you're done and off you go......

Sorry I misunderstood the OP

I spend about 200 nights a year in hotels (189 and counting this year).  I can't remember the last one that was interested in a cash deposit.  They want a CC; you can leave $200 deposit and exceed that in breakage in 5 min.  I typically go to the desk to check out but it is supurfluous unless you have a problem with the room, bill, etc.  In fact most hotels prefer you do the "quick check out" bit, it's less labor intensive (therefore cheeper) for them.

And as far as adding charges to your CC, they can do that long after you've checked out if they find something missing, etc.

unless I've made charges to my room and want to verify them (and if I don't expect to be in a room long, I don't make charges). If I'm just going to be using a room for a few hours, I pack what I need into a light bag so I can get it in and out without a lot of attention. Once I've left, I get the room charge on my credit card within a few days. Just be sure to check it, and get the receipt for what the room costs when you check in. I've not had any problems with this method.

to do with the room charge showing up on a cc statement.  Not good when other eyes see the statement.

What I have done when I have had to get the room is to book the room on the hotel web site, check-in with my cc, then pay cash when I leave.  If I leave the next day, I'm a normal hotel guest checking out and paying with cash.  If I leave after a few hours I either had a long layover between flights (only works at an airport hotel) or I received an emergency call and have to be somewhere else in a hurry.

You bring up a good point. I've never had much issue paying up front in cash though. When I book online, I do use my CC, then if I'm not using my CC I just pay in cash when I check-in. I've probably told them to use the CC I booked with to cover any incidentals, and then just didn't charge anything.

Do another wash up, if you have a S.O. , look for anything you may have dropped or hung up, jacket, wallet, keys.....take a deep breath thank God for the pretty young thing or MILF you just enjoyed  and leave.
