Yes, you probably should.

How does it look?  It looks terrible.
It looks like the client does not have an iota of care for the provider's health or business.

Even if you've gotten cold sores since you were a kid - it is still a communicable disease.

It'd be the equivalent of walking into a provider's room with the flu and expecting a kiss.

I have an appointment to see a new provider and I just got a cold sore the day before.  I'm a clean guy, I've gotten cold sores since I was a kid, but I'm worried this will make a bad impression. Problem is,  I had this planned around a little trip I was taking and I can't change the trip and I was really looking forward to it. To providers or other customers, how bad does it look if a customer has a cold sore? What would you do, or how would you react?

Cancel appointment.

I have this on my website. Please don't make an appointment, if you have a cold, cold sore, cough, sore throat or skin rash.

I'm sure provider will appreciate you canceling.

Good luck with everything.

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and you def don't want it to be a bad one.

IMHO,

I would want to know and very glad you canceled. No lady would want it spread to her private parts and think how much fun you would have to miss to keep her safe.

I am into natural medicine and swear by it. I posted this list on another board and someone here might be interested in learning about such products. First off there are a few products to google

BHT --- cold sore   very strong antiviral and good to always have on hand ----I like the "now" brand which is family run and owned with good reputation.

Olive leaf Extract ----cold sore ---- been taking this for 25 years during flu season and never get sick --- years ago I thought this could actually fight HIV and maybe cure it

Colloidal Silver  (ASAP  gel by American Biotech Labs )----- cold sore ---- I have 20 tubes of this on hand and brush my teeth with it after oral. With the product I suggest it is a gel and as soon as you feel the tingle  start putting it on the spot. It will dry the liquid up inside overnight but the small scab will need to heal and drop off. No big messy ones will arrive as long as you keep putting it on till it's healed.

Lysine --- cold sore -- This last product is actually an amino acid and should be taken daily so you won't have another breakout

Thanks for the helpful information. I already have a prescription pill and ointment. I may try some of the stuff you recommended in the future.

What about if I call her and explain the situation and see if she still wants to meet. I don't need to touch her with my mouth if that's what it takes. This is my first trip I've planned in years and im celebrating my birthday so I can't exactly reschedule.  It's basically now,  or who knows when.

it's an STD and is very contagious. I know they are common, but it's a risk plain and simple. I would turn a gent away if he had a cold sore (or any STD) and I would be upset that he wasted my time and wasn't considerate of my health.

Not only would you selfishly be putting the provider at risk- you would be putting her other friends at risk for the next few days too. Not fun, IMHO.

There's always next time!

A cold sore is basically an open wound into your system. From a guy that has plenty of STD testing, and a relationship with his doctor, the number one thing he says is to avoid any providers who visibly has a cold sore because its a gateway for STD's transmission.

First impressions are very important IMO, they establish future appointments and referrals. Some providers might misinterpret your cold sore for herpes. If she see's you with a cold sore, they will refuse service because they do not want to jeopardize their health.

You should definitely avoid.

I guess what I'll do is contact her, let her know the situation and offer to pay her for her time just to meet. That way, I can at least know what I think of her for the future,  and she's still getting paid for her time and not losing an appt last minute. If it makes a bad impression and she doesn't want to see me again,  so be it.

You could try that. Maybe she will still see you and do a cbj, and maybe cfs, with no kissing, daty etc. she would probably very much appreciate your honesty. But she also may just say no, she doesnt want to see you. Its a bummer for you but shit happens and safety is the most important thing in this hobby.

Don't be selfish dude!  I think that we all know the answer to this.  Ya gotta play it safe for everyone's sake.  Go tie one on with the guys or do something else to celebrate.  Don't put everyone else at risk just because you don't want to give up some plans.  Think about it... wouldn't you walk if she was showing std signs?  Hope you always cover up, even if you don't have any visible signs.

I'm new here, but shit like this is what's making me nervous.

are Herpes Simples type1.  Yes, easily comminicated.  Valtrex Rx is useful to suppress it.  My wife gets them...  she is sensitive & can tell when one is about to make it's ungly appearance.   We've been married 20+ years & I still do not have it.   But we avoid contact if she has any such going on.
Stress makes cold sores more likely...  and pre-first meeting nerves will not work in yoour favor.

I provider likely will have zero tollerance for Cold Sores.  Yes, very bad impression.  Face it, I don't think any provider would risk her health AND her business.

You say you got the cold sore the day before...  sorry not enough time.  The prescription can work very fast but not that fast!...  You need to cancel if you still have anything going on.
