Are local calls from hotel rooms ID blocked?

Have my first ever appt. with SP set for next week.  I am to call her one hour before the appt. to confirm.  Like most SPs, she will not accept blocked ID calls.  The hotel where I will be staying offers free local calls.  I am wondering, if I call her from the room, will the call show up at her end with ID blocked or unblocked?

I realize there will be a record of the call in the hotel system, but I am not concerned about that. Since most hotels allow you to access an outside line by dialing 8 or 9, I am thinking it should be unblocked.  Does anyone have experience with this?

and if they do what protocols must be followed to UN-block the call. (this question is not a violation of the "Patriot Act")

Probably 9-*67-her-number (or some variation of)

BTW - What is wrong with sparking up your cell phone?

Cause i bought an el-cheapo model phone (should have done my research here first) and i don't know if i can place calls in the city where i will be visiting/have the appt

was thinking about the idea of keeping a low profile and did not want to raise suspicion by asking the hotel

If you feel you have to explain yourself about the call blocking issue tell them that you have to call a family member/boss/friend/client whatever who has a personal neurosis about accepting blocked calls. The only way the hotel is going to make an issue of it is if you do.

call your cell phone and see what is in the display.
