OK, so here's the deal.  I saw a provider today whose pictures were totally fake.  The frustrating thing is that this was a person who has a decent number reviews here on TER.  She is also featured on RS2K, which I thought was a well-regarded verification site.  In other words, this was no backpage gal.  Even though I'm pretty pissed right now, I can't help but chuckle at the correspondence I had with this provider/con artist.  I asked her when the pics were taken.  She responds by saying, "a long time ago."  Later on, I asked her flat out if the pics were really of her.  She responds by saying, " I'm not answering that question." LOL!!!!!  I'll simply say this.  The pics were of a hot, young, beautiful, and athletic girl.  When I arrived at the hotel room, what answered the door was an old, fat, saggy woman with messed up teeth and bad breath.  

I have several questions that I hope you guys can answer. They are the following:

Why wouldn't the fact that her pics are fake be made known in her reviews?  All her reviews are very good.  How could that be?  

If I run into a situation like this again with a provider with fake pics, am I justified in leaving right then and there once I see she is not the woman in the pics?  I briefly thought about leaving, but I honestly didn't know what to do.  By leaving once I see her pics are fake, am I risking being put on a blacklist?  After all, this person screened me, so she has some personal information on me.  So, wouldn't I have risked some kind of retaliation by her if I left once I realized her pics are fake?  

I'm tempted to write a VERY negative review of this provider, but again, by writing a negative review, I'm afraid that I'm risking some kind of retaliation towards me, such as blacklisting or who knows what? Are my fears rooted in reality, or am I being paranoid?  Again, she screened me, so she has some personal information on me.  

Despite this really crappy experience that makes me want to take a long break from this hobby, I do realize things actually could have been worse.  It could have been law enforcement, and that would have totally sucked, but still, I'm not pleased.

Don't you have 90 days to write the review?  So write it up on a word pad and hang on to it for a few weeks and then submit it - she will have screwed over other guys by then and she wont know if its you or one of them.

Being featured on RS2K or any other reputable site still isn't a guarantee that the girl is the same one in the photos, as you found out.

Reviews to me are guidance, but hardly to be taken as gospel.  Did you look at the reviewers and see if they were reputable ones?

A girl with tons of good reviews doesn't mean shit to me.  I saw a provider in Miami nearly a year ago who had amazing reviews, but her face was completely banged-up.  If you saw just a face pic, there is no way in hell you would ever rate her as the others did, much less even see her.  I'm not kidding.  But that's a different issue, because she actually did use real pics (her body is insane, but her face was blocked out).  So that's my own fault, and certainly not something that I need to write about in a review.  Maybe some other reviewers will jump on me for not pointing that out, but since I paid for the session and my own VIP, that's not for them to say, in my opinion.

SOME providers will trade free or heavily discounted sessions for great reviews.  That's my best guess.

As far as you bolting...yeah, you absolutely can.  But you need to evaluate the upside/downside here.  If she has your personal info, is it worth it to save a few hundred and then have her be spiteful and paste all your shit over the internet?  At that point, I'd suck it up and go through with it, or say..."Look, I had something come up, but here's the full fee, because this isn't your fault."  Sucks that you will go home poor and with blue balls, but to me my reputation and real info isn't worth getting screwed over for a few hundred bucks.

So, yes, I think you did the right thing by not leaving.

As far as the negative review...careful on that.  She will find out who it is, and that might trigger her spiteful side.  She has your personal info...it's way too risky, in my opinion.

Sorry to hear about this, but your best bet is to say something like, "I saw this provider in this area.  If you hobby in that area, please PM me if you want details on this session."  But even then, word might still get back to her.

I would just suck it up.  Sucks, man...because this shit is expensive to do, but ultimately I see way more downside and very, very, very little upside.

Crazy, I appreciate the honest and detailed response.  Believe it or not, all of her reviewers, except for one, have written several other reviews.  So, they appear to be reliable, but who knows?

I'm open to what others have to say on this issue, but I think I'm leaning towards just sucking it up and not writing a review.  I have enough drama in my life outside this hobby, and, this is not the time for more drama.  But, again, I'm open to what others have to say.

As for the other reviewers...hard to say.  Some guys just always put down high scores, and I dunno why.

I have found that it works best when you have two or three guys locally that you can correspond with locally, and who can serve as accurate reviewers that you can bounce info off of.  I probably have five or six people I correspond with in NYC, and that helps weed out the ones that aren't worth seeing.

At least now you know not to see any of the other girls they reviewed.

It's not as simple as "we need to share our experiences so this site works."

Especially if the other site is crazy and spiteful and has our personal information.

It doesn't have to be spiteful.  Just state that you were less than pleased with the comparison between her and her pictures.  Make the review honest.  It the performance was good or outstanding make sure that is also stated.

Save your contacts with her so that when she disputes the review you have proof that you actually saw her.

so she can't be sure who wrote it.  Don't put anything in to help her ID you.   She might have some how stolen the ID of someone else or the review could be false...  as much as TER tries to weed out fakes, both providers / clients.

You post frequently and seem to be heavily advocating against writing or trusting reviews.

I don't disagree with a lot of your points about the inherent problems with reviews.

On the other hand, this IS the erotic REVIEW. It seems to me the whole point of the existence of the site is for hobbyists to share their experiences with others in order to try to improve the whole. People are regularly admonished for not "doing their homework" which I always sort of assumed meant, at least in part, reading the reviews.

If you are saying that reading a few reviews ALONE is not enough to ensure satisfaction, well then I agree with you.

If you are saying "don't write a bad review because you might get in trouble" - I don't get it. How am I going to find out who the bad ones are?

Thanks, harbor.  Although I initially leaned against writing a review, I now think I may do what you and Naomi suggest, which is wait a while, and then write the review.....without information that will give her a clue to who wrote it, of course.

At the very least, I am definitely filing a problem report.
