and you only stay a couple of hours, aren't they going to be suspicious?

I don't think they care. I'm sure they have a lot of experience in short stays.

How will they know?  You pay ahead of time, so generally you don't need to check out.  Just leave your key in the room and go.  Not only that, but you could be doing a variety of things: having an affair, napping, showering, having alone time after a fight w/ your significant other.

I would not worry too much about it.  Just find a hotel you feel comfortable at, perhaps one where you can come and go out of a side door instead of going through a lobby.

Best,

Kate

It was a 300 room property, and you generally knew what was going on.  Having said that, pay cash at check-in, and either check out via the automated system on the television, or just leave the key in the room.

A few years ago I got a hotel room for 2 hours of fun. When I called the hotel directly they wanted my home number. I called the 800 number to make the reservation. When I left they asked why I was leaving, I said "family emergency". They asked did you use anything in the room, "Just sheets and towels". You should have seen the looks on their faces.

If I get a 2 or 3 hour appointment I will spend the whole night now. I take my erotic trash with me and dispose it outside of my room. Many maids are nosey and they can't wait to go in the room to see what you were doing.

i don't care if it's a short stay or a long one.  i usually just leave and not checkout at the desk anyway.  now i'll leave the condoms out, lube, toys, video camera on tripod (facing the bed) whatever.  i'm sure they see this stuff daily.  you may just give someone a funny story for the day.

Remind me next week to tell you a story of a friend that got arrested in his room for "certain activities".  It turned out alright, but it was scary for a while, and I spent a Sunday at the jail getting him out...

In short, you should care, at least a little.  The maids do talk.
