First off, I'd like to thank all the veteran TER members and providers for posting such useful information for us newbie hobbyists.
I have been lurking on TER as a member for some time, and am ready to finally take the plunge. I have read some reviews where they state the provider asked for I.D. Is this a common practice? I'm just a little nervous showing my I.D. I understand the providers need to protect themselves too. I'm just a bit hesitant, am I being too paranoid?
Veteran hobbyists what are your experiences? Providers are welcome to chime in too.
thanks ![]()
The ones that don't are the ones you don't want to see...
Not sure what you are afraid of...
I've only been asked once. As luck would have it, she was among one of my very few bad experiences. I'm not sure that there's a correlation, but my experience has been quite different than what you mention.
Most providers that I've seen will ask for a picture I.D. the first time I see them. No reason to feel paranoid. They just want to make sure you're the person they made the appointment with, and, yes, they have the right to do this to add another layer of protection. But that's just my thought on it.

It's another means of the ladies protecting themselves. All they want is to be sure that you are really the person that contacted them. Don't worry, it's usually just a quick glance, then on to the games.
Newbie here,
Some ask some dont ask. I am single and personally dont care. Buy the VIP membership and read all the reviews. and some providers have a website with pretty detailed screening instructions. I would also invest in a hobby phone if discretion is key. If you dont like the ID issue find a provider that doesnt utilize that method. Good Luck
Most sniff my scent on the way in, and ID is not necessary! Seriously, asking for ID at the door is the exception, not the rule with most gals.
I can remember the only 3 providers that asked for my ID. Fine with me but if they started jotting down my drivers license number, I'd yank it out of their hand and get the hell out of there.
Well..... I have seen a few CL girls but also quite a few well known ladies with multiple pages of reviews and strict screening practices, yet I've never been asked to present ID, or to give my Date-Check safe word. Perhaps I have a look that either marks me as a non threat or inspires trust. ROTFLMAO! Yeah, all 6'2 255lbs of me, 1000 yard stare and scars to boot! I was having a haircut two weeks ago, minding my own business, and a lady told me that I was scaring her kids! Just sitting there, ignoring them! During the many years that I was on active duty in the Navy, and enjoying the sport in the port cities of the world, I was frequently asked to present my military ID, which sufficed for screening, even among the elite ladies of the Med and Asia. I have been a little bit surprised, actually, to never be asked for any ID, after all of the effort that some ladies put into their screening process. Bottom line: I would not mind showing the
ID and see no reason to be uncomfortable to do so.
My experience has been that they almost never have checked my ID, even when their website said this was required. Most of the time, I walk in, say hello it is so nice to finally meet you, put down and envelope, and the fun begins.
I would never attempt to decieve a provider about my identity!!!!!! If you get caught doing that you would never be able to get a date.
Most ladies do the tough screening beforehand. Once I arrive, they just hope I'm the guy they screened.
I've heard that once the guy arrives, if he is LE, it is too late anyway.
The ones who don't are being careless and why would you want to be with a careless provider?
Worse yet, they could be LE. They'll ask for your ID when you have bracelets on.
even by 3 or 4 ladies who either state they will ask to see it on their website, or prior reviews said they asked to see ID...
Now... I'm in pretty good shape, and I work out regularly...
so it's obvious I don't eat a lot of donuts...
and we all know where the cops hang out... don't we???

Thanks for everyones responses!
I think i just needed a little assurance.
when the lady asked for the DL to match the name with an airline boarding pass (proves I'm not local LE with an out-of-state license & boarding pass).
The majority of us providers are not out to stalk, or to cause havoc with you or your family, we're in this business for pleasure, BUT, you must understand that showing us your ID is keeping it real. If you tell us one thing and your ID says something else it sends up a red flag. When you fill out a contact form, you have to put a few of those things down...it's the nature of the beast, Hobbying comes with a price, and if you want us to feel comfortable and give you your monies worth, then work with us and just go with it.
Believe me, as long as your honest, we could care less about where you live or what it says on your ID, we don't save the info to use at a later date LOL, just be truthfull that you are who you say you are
Jay
Just to make sure you weren't giving me someone else's info. Oh and to make sure you are of age! lOl! Muah!
Unfortunately it looks like your attempt to purchase VIP membership has failed due to your card being declined. Good news is that we have several other payment options that you could try.
We thank you for your purchase!
Membership should be activated shortly. You'll receive notification!
