am hoping some of the TER veterans will offer words of wisdom on how to use the regional boards and craft requests that will be more readily answered.

My suggestion is to read back through the pages on this board to get a feel for TER and the Hobby.

There's a wealth of information for you in the Newbie Manual at the top of this page, and you should read that.

I have to agree that you need to educate yourself about this site & how the hobby works...  By all means start by reading & rereading the Newbie manual at the top of this board.  Then read back several pages on this Newbie board and a couple on the others.  Do notice the regional boards to the left & by all means check out your local board.  You might even find out things from other regions, worth a look every now & then.  

THEN you're ready for VIP.  You'll want to be able to read the full reviews to get the best match for what is important to YOU.  VIP also allows you to PM providers.

You can post an ISO (In Search Of) on your local board, (remember to check the reviews of anyone you're interested in).  Just do not expect that VIP members will do a search & evaluation for you.  VIP membership is far less costly than even one spoiled date or wasted opportunity.  If you can afford to hobby, you can afford VIP.    Members can not recommend specific providers.

Choose the area and then browse through all of the Indie and Agency sites.

I agree that posting an ISO is a great idea..after you do your homework. Then you get a introduction from the ladies if they are interested. And this will give you another peek into who is available in Long Island.

I do know this. Our members here are ready willing and able to assist you.

Read your regional board. There is a wealth of information for you.

There is a contingent of LI hobbyists there who may be able to help you.  Also, there are some ladies whom visit the Island when they are touring, and a few agencies operate there as well.  Many will state that in their ad posts, or will list that in the schedules on their websites.  You may still have a roadtrip to make, though...
